Let me know when hell freezes over, so I can make my next booking at Wembley. Played Hillview today in under 3 hours, great reception from staff, very courteous and all this for 10 dollars less then Wembley. Nice to know some managers care about running their courses and taking care of the golfer’s.

I played there today and really enjoyed the course. I shot a 98 which is my best ever for 18 holes, I’ve only started playing 9 holes weekly for the last 3 months.
The course itself is very interesting with fairway and greenside bunkers on nearly every hole, and some water on Lakeside and Heritage holes. If you spray it off the tee (as I do), the rough between fairways is open and generous which enables us high handicappers to get the ball back in play easier than many other courses. But you still have to avoid those greenside bunkers! I found 2 but was able to get out in a single shot each time. Lucky I watch so many Youtube videos as my local course has no bunkers anywhere!
I played the Lakeside 9 (50) and the Heritage 9 (48). I far preferred the Lakeside 9 although the greens were lightning fast! The Heritage 9 was a bit scrubbier and I thought the layout was a bit less interesting, but still fun.
Even though today was a public holiday it only cost $22 for 18 holes. I’ll definitely be going back there in future to replay Lakeside and to try the Classic 9.
Can’t comment on the practise area or driving range or bar/cafe, but the pro shop although smallish seemed at a quick glance to carry the regular big name brands and current equipment.

Only two bad things. Lot of bark if you hit out of fairway becareful it will destroy you irons and poor management on weekend with lot of competition group. If you start early morning Please finish you first nine within 1.45 hrs otherwise you will stuck for an hour with the competition group all courses.

Played here a few sundays ago. Honest not impressed! As i read before in past posts that the fairways are wide, Well i think they have been brought in alot, As they we very narrow, Greens was very hard to judge but in saying that i like the setting, In the end if it had a little more maintanice could be a good place to play. unfortantly i wont be going back for a while!!!!

Played 18 for the 1st time on Classic and Lake Side Nines on 27/3/11. Good value for money on a weekend only $28. Very playable course with few bunkers to add to the challenges but adequate distances on many par 4 holes. Had a very decent round highlighted by a hole in 1 on the 16th Lake Side, a perfect shot with my 6 iron on a stiff breeze, ball landed 1 foot from the cup and rolled in, wowie! Will be back for more on this ocurse.

Played 18 holes last week and had a great day.
The course has wide fairways, a small amount of undulation, a few sand traps per hole and a couple of water hazards to negotiate making it a great course for mid-handicappers (like myself) to play, challenge and improve their game.
Fairways were in good condition and are well watered.
Greens had been cored recently when we played but are otherwise in good condition also.
Paid $22 for 18 holes mid week making it a great value course in my opinion.

Reasonable Public Course with 27 holes. We played all 27 holes in two visits and enjoyed the layout. Not overly long, but good fairways and smallish greens made play enjoyable. In between our first and second visit they had cored the greens, so it is difficult to rate the greens properly. Green Fees of $22 for 18 holes midweek are good value for money and definitely worth a visit.

Hillview Golf Course is a good 27 hole course, of substantial length for a public course, with the first 18 holes measuring almost 6,000 metres long as a matter of fact (Classic and Lakeside nines). It is a reasonable test if you want to prepare yourself for playing at private clubs, however the greens are slow and its very easy chip close to the flags and putt well. The second nine of the main 18 holes was all couch fairways these were fantastic. Its a good course for better players to practice shotmaking on but the greens wont challenge them. The pick of the holes for me would probably be the 18th, Par 5 with dam on the right. There are some good challenging par 4’s however they are easy to get up and down on due to a lack of bunkering. A reasonable test for all levels of golfer and reasonably priced on a tuesday at $21 for 27 holes!

This course is a gem, while it isnt as green as some of the burswoods or joondalups on the fairways, the greens are fantastic. It has lots of bunkers on the majority of the holes so its got a deffinate challenge factor there, and water comes into play on the par 5 18th.. deffinately recommend this course if you are lookign for a change from the carramars, rosehills, wembleys, hamersleys etc….. We played the classic and lakeside, not sure what the heritage is like as that is only a 9 hole..

the greens at hillview are some of the best in perth public course's. the roll on the greens are very true.
the fairways leave a lot to be desired, they are patchy and need a lot maintainance.
i enjoy playing this course because it has a tricky layout and great greens.

I played this course last year and wasn't impressed with the condition. I couldn't believe the transformation, the fairways are very good, and you could get a nice roll on the greens. The layout is as challenging as ever for a public course, the bunkers were very nicely maintained and there was plenty of definition between rough and fariway which is another improvement. The course is long from the back tees, but not too long from the whites. I spoke to the girl in the shop about the improvements and she told me they'd spent $100,000 on new equipment and have new staff throughout the place including the greenkeepers, it shows, we had a good day.

Hillview..well it is a course that could but doesnt it is a course that should but doesnt. Layout is good but greens and rough are left in at best modest condition. Holes lack imagination in some areas but the par 3 8th on the front nine is challenging and well thought out but the course will leave you wanting more. reasonable practise facillities are let down by now chipping green...unless u call mowed grass green but with a little effort this course really could shine. Course professional is a great teacher.
A worthwhile course if ur in the area

This isn't the prettiest course by a long shot but I've played this course many times and always find it challenging. What makes it so challenging is the long driving needed to make greens in regulation. There are quite a few bunkers and fast sloping multi tiered greens make putting interesting. The fairways are somewhat generous in width and are fast n hard so you get plenty of ball roll. Stray drives will almost always end in the soft sandy edges which are always hard to hit any decent long shot from. A few hills and doglegs add to the challenge. 10,000 trees planted about 10 years ago are starting to mature and give the course a more pronounced rough area in between fairways. Good bar facilities and club house. Overall I think good to better players will enjoy the challenge this course offers.

Thought this course was quite good value for money, played here a few times and thought the staff were excellent. The course is in average condition but a little underrated for its price.Quite good for the average golfer.
