Purely a beginners course. It’s 2780m (not 5500m) long and the par 60 is a fudge as of the 6 par 4’s on the course, most should be tough par 3’s.
If you want to introduce people to golf, you would do well to play Hudson Park as you can hack it around without putting noses out of joint.

Good short course, great for short game work. Quiet a few par 3’s around 100m so now hitting my SW flush. If you have a couple of hours to spare and don’t care about not being called up by the group in front have a hit. I’m going to come here instead of massey park as my regular mid week hit

I quite like this course. It’s short, but you know that heading into it. Great for practicing your short game. I like the way they’ve maximised the available space, although holes 2-9 are a little too close to one another.

My only negative is some of the people who play there. I’m a beginner but I know not to take my buggy across the green and to wave other players through when my group reaches the green. 2 times I’ve played there I’ve been stuck behind people in large groups (buck’s party in one instance!) who have no thought of others and slow the game down for everyone. This isn’t the course’s fault though.

Not as nice as nearby Massey Park, but good for a hit on a weekend because you don’t generally need to book.

PROS

  • Friendly staff
  • Sufficient parking
  • Driving range on site
  • Good value

Played at Hudson Park on Saturday. Due to the rain it was a pretty muddy affair.

The green on the 1st Hole was terrible and so were a few others. Really below par compared to other golf courses around. Pretty basic course, with the opportunity to pull out the driver on some holes or test your accuracy with your irons on a Par 3. If you were to play here I can only say the back nine is better kept than the front nine so there’s something to look forward too.

This is a course where you can rock up and play at any time and it’s got a driving range, these are the positives.

On the other hand the condition of the course at this present time is not very good! the first green was left to go in such a state that it was like puttin on the beach(very sandy). It has now been brought forward while they repair but the temporary green is just a hole on the fairway! there are a few other greens that are also very patchy and in need of repair.

I might give this place a couple of months before i go back and see the condition of it then because although short it’s a nice course when in good nick.

This course doesnt realy suit my game, i'm a very big driver but cant putt.

I practice at Marsden Park Golf accademy, where my length and red shoes are appreciated more.

Rough.

I really like this course, I play here every week. The stafff are so friendly it isnt funny. The driving range is good for a hit and giggle.

The best holes are the 2nd a good uphill par 4.the 10th a deceptive par 3, and 16 a very reachable downhill par 4.

The only thing i find mildly frustrating about this course is on about 10 holes no mater what club i choose the ball goes over the green. I guess I will have to learn to play a bit better.

It dosent get too much trafic and is in a good condition.

Overall a quality short course

Played here recently, the greens are so bad. Course has not been taken care of and not worth playing for $19.50 (18 holes).

Will not play again there sometimes soon, probably when they start applying strict rules for all public golfer who did not look after the course.

Plenty of lob marks and sand spots on green. Bunkers not repaired from previous player.

Measuring 2780m Par 60 with 12 Par 3s ranging from 80-160m and 6 Par 4s ranging from 200-255m. Some par 4s can easily play as a par 3, and are all drivable off the tee. No Par 5s, no doglegs, just a simple short course with a decent driving range to boot. Good practice course for the short game and was done playing 18 holes in 2 hours. Fairways were in excellent condition, as were the tee-beds. Greens however, were not trimmed close at all and were excruciatingly slow. Some holes are ridiculously short. Played here on Monday 9/2/06 and paid $16 for 18 holes. $12 if you are a uni student.

I have played this course twice now with a couple of friends. Holes very short and you really only need to use a driver twice. The greens are in fair to poor condition with the greens having too much sand on them. You will also need to be careful of not being hit in head with a golf ball. Lots of beginners, and some of them are unaware of the etiquettes of golf, so look out for flying golf balls. Overall and for the cost which currently is $19.50 I think this is course is very average. Only good if are a beginner and if you just want a quick hit with mates with nothing too challenging.

Don't bother bringing anything more than a 5 wood to this course. Hudson Park is a good course to work on your short game &/or for beginners. The fairways aren't great but are generally very tight. The greens, for the price, are very well kept all be it a little on the slow side. This course has a special place in my heart since I hit my only hole in one, on the 130M 9th hole. How could you miss with that!

If you have a handicap lower than 20 then you will be bored dead with this course. The greens are unusually tricky for such a bad course. You'll be itching all day to take your driver out. Don't bother packing it.

Want to improve your short game and at the same time flatter your handicap ? Then give Hudson park a try.

Not the most scenic location being situated next to a highway and major power lines. However, this courses tight lay-out and well maintained greens make it excellent value for under $20.

A few challenging holes and big hitters tend to be punished so use a driver sparingly.

Overall not a bad course for a three hour game. Best thing about Hudson Park is you get excellent value for money.

I have played this course a number of times now...It is very short probly the shortest course in sydney...most of the par 4s you can nail.

This course may be short but good for iron accuracy. Some of the par 3s are very very narrow. The fairways are a bit barron will test you otherwise.

Everytime I have played this course it has been fun...

Hudson's a short course which is great if your short game is on. You might need to only take your Driver out maybe 3 times all day (also depending on if you play of reds or off whites), but otherwise long irons or 3W's will keep you out of trouble all day.

I've played here a few times, and though the fairways arent often the best, the greens are usually in good condition which keeps your putting honest.

Great for beginners like me, which helps build your confidence up...more or less, it's a case of "closest to the pin" over "longest drive challenge". The onsite driving range is also a good attraction. Not the best course by all means, but one of the best for novices.

Hudson Park golf course is an extremely short layout, and well suited for beginners or anyone who enjoys a quick game after work. The layout consists of 12 par 3's, the longest only about 160m, and a bunch of short par 4's (some of which would be classed as par 3's on other courses). All greens are well bunkered, so there are always some interesting shots to be played on a round here. The greens are of a good standard, although fairly slow to moderate in speed at most times. The course presentation is generally satisfactory, but some parts of the course have poor grass coverage. The holes are tightly packed into the available space, getting narrow in many places.

The best holes are the 10th, an uphill par 3 to a large green with deep traps that catch any shot to the sides, and the 11th, a downhill par 3 to a tricky green, where the pin is often tucked away behind an imposing sand trap.

This course is usually very busy on weekends, and play can be slow due to large groups of novice players.
