SAVE ME PLEASE !!!
Went there on Friday the 30th of September 2011 and there is no golf course there anymore . Its all over grown with long grass and weeds and the flags are gone and the greens are about 2 foot long (what has happend to this lovely little golf course in Huonville ?
Someone please do something about this because it is a waste of a lovely little golf course.

Huon Heights is a lovely little 9 hole course with heaps of potential.
It`s not too long (so if you hit a bad shot it`s quite easy to recover) you can play all day as it is an easy walk with not too many hills. people on the course are really friendly and considerate as well. This corse is well worth the cheap green fees and is heaps of fun for a group of hackers who just love to enjoy themselves and have a stress free day . CHECK IT OUT NEXT TIME YOU GO TO HUONVILLE !

I have had the pleasure several times and Huon Heights is a fantastic little course right at the gateway to possibly Tasmania’s most picturesque region. A cleverly designed course with 9 holes and 18 strategically placed tees giving the feel of a much larger course. Plenty of greenery, ponds and a winding stream to challenge the seasoned pro whilst remaining pleasantly forgiving to the novice.

An added charm is the opportunity to chat to regulars who have long adopted favoured spots to rest for coffee and snacks between rounds (generally on or near the banks of the attractive stream and water storage areas)

Well worth the drive from Hobart, only a short 30 minutes, and guaranteed to stimulate the senses sufficiently for repeat visits.

Btw, JACKTAS 2 Jan ’09 – The integrity of this site has already been corrupted by pompous wana-be’s like SCARLETT (8 Jul ’07) who obviously have far too much time on their hands and travel the country side contributing little or no substance to the community in stark contrast to the lashings of service delivered to their own self indulgent and sanctimonious ego’s.

Check out the comments on virtually every Tasmanian course review site…SCARLETT has managed to lampoon all, with the exception of one or two elite courses, like he/she is on a self appointed pilgrimage to educate the masses. Peel of the veneer and it would probably reveal he/she is a 27 handicap hacker with over inflated visions of grandeur.

Disgusted! Ok…I know…cheapo green fees …don’t expect too much…but c’mon this is ridiculous. At least try to maintain the place, I make an effort to travel down and play your course so give me something to play on. “The Huon Heights Golf Course is one of the most highly regarded 9 hole courses in the state” is just not true. Please keep the integrity of this site to what it should be and do not go making these crazy claims. Sad.

Cons

  • Course and filthy toilet..... 1 star coz I have to give something

Scarlett & benjintheengine just happen to be two of the very few twits who have been nabbed for not paying their green fees and rather than face up to their own short comings they choose to cowardly attack the course to hide their embarrasment. Btw benjintheengine, June is the middle of winter in the Huon…the Tees would be as soft as your brain power. The Huon Heights Golf Course is one of the most highly regarded 9 hole courses in the state. benjintheengine, if you cant keep out of the hazards, take up fishing!!! I challenge both of you to ring the course and pass on your concerns.

I have to agree with Scarlett, I played there yesterday and found it very difficult to refer to it as a golf course. I’m usually pretty easy going with where I play and with the condition of a course, but Huon Heights is an absolute disgrace. If you hit the ball in the fairway you are rewarded with three-inch-long grass, pine needles and sticks. The “tee” areas are ridiculously hard (I had to improvise on par 3s by simply hitting my ball off the ground as I couldn’t get a tee into it), and I’ve seen fairways that would be easier to putt on than those greens.

Hello everybody!!

i have so much to say about this golf course!!

because my farther owns it and i have been living at the golf course my whole life!!

that is 14years!!

and every tee, green, fairway and everything else on the golf course is worth the drive!!

we get people from all aournd playing at our golf course and its such an awsome experaince watching everybody come up the hill after having a great time playing at my golf course with huge smiles on their faces!!!

i wouldnt call it a course for beginners id call it a course for people who want to have a fun time! people who want to play a real game! or maybe just a group of people who want to bring their familys around and have a relaxing day and have a great time!!

so if you want to have a great time i recomend this golf course!!

trust me i would know!!

I have and as golf courses go, it’s a joke. It’s basically someones ‘backyard’ 9-hole golf course, although I hesitate to use the term course, perhaps track would be better. The fairways are at least 50% weeds, the tees just part of the fairways and the greens did not have consitent grass coverage. This is a course for beginners who want to see what hitting golf balls is like and nothing more. The only interesting hole is the 7th (or 8th maybe, I wiped it from my memory) which was a (very) short downhill par5, over a creek and onto a smallish green. If you’re looking for the real golf course in Hounville, it’s out the other side of town.
