Huon Valley Golf Club. The best 12 hole golf course in Tasmania (probably the only 12 hole golf course in Tas) The first 6 greens you play twice but from differnt tees. The 7th, 8th, 9th, 16th, 17th, and the 18th you only get to play once. This is a beautiful golf course built on river flats so it`s an easy walk with no hills. The members are the best that i`ve ever come across and the club house is a lovely spot to sit on the balcony and watch the golfers play the 18th. The greens are magnificent and the fairways are lush (in summer but a bit wet in winter). green fees are good at $15 and booking is not needed.
The highlight of the course is standing on the 17th tee (it`s a beautiful view down the fairway to the green). This is the best golf course south of Kingston and well worth the drive down into the HUON VALLEY.

We had a great day at this course, $15 for 18 holes, well maintained and a great setting. You can’t get into too much trouble and some nice long holes bring out the fairway woods, and the greens are very good. Facilities are great and made to feel very welcome

This is a country course near the town of Huonville, but actually about 5Km away from the town. It’s not in as bad a shape as many other Tassie courses and must have decent access to water as it was all pretty green. Tees, fairways and greens all in good condition and fair value for the $15 green fee.

It’s a flat course and most of the holes are fairly similar, being tree lined but with not much in the way of rough or hazards. Holes were oriented so that some of them were always into the wind – in our case the longest hole (475m par 5 9th) was straight into it. But it was still a good day because I had a rare (for me), eagle, on the par 4 11th with a 3 iron flying straight at the pin and when I got up there found the ball in the cup.

Better than the average Tassie 9-holer but nothing flash.

Huon Valley Golf Course is a flat well laid out golf course. You need to hit straight or you may find yourself playing other fairways or out of bounds. The course has excellent greens and is well maintained, could be signposted slightly better otherwise a good round of golf to be had, watch out for the plovers.
