Hurstville Golf Course is a Par 69 layout spread out across a picturesque parkland area with a diverse range of holes. The course is not overly long which makes it the ideal choice for people new to the game, however the tree lined fairways, gentle rolling hills and smooth, quick greens provide a challenge for the experienced golfer looking to test his/her game.. Hurstville Golf Course makes golfers of any level feel welcome.

The course layout is actually ok. It could do with a little better care but when it’s quiet, for the price, I like playing here. However, it can be the worst run course I’ve ever played on. 90 mins in we’re on the 4th tee with four four balls before the 5th tee. We walked off and went home.

For the price you pay it’s not bad for a local chop. I like to play here after I’ve had a lesson and need to work on things.

Staff are friendly. Most fairways are maintained to an acceptable standard. I don’t feel bad bringing first-timers here either. So IMO it has its place.

It had been a long time since I had played this course. Not many bunkers or any water hazards, so may be a little boring for talented golfers. Good for most golfers with varying ground levels which can make life difficult. The double dog leg on the 17th is a challenge and definitely no direct shot from the tee. A little dry in some spots but most council run courses are the same this time of year. Worth the hit even if the Pro shop attendant is rude and not overly interested in his job.

Repeating what young jim said it’s a nice course to have locally but it’s just to short and the greens are to slow. Maybe they sould heaps more bunkers in or some water at the bottom of the 4th. Needs improving

I have been playing at Hurstville for about 3 years and it is a good course to have locally. But most of the greens are in bad condition. There are a few greens which wont have big brown patches on it. The fairways arent to good either. They have put a few bunkers in which makes it better. The back nine has great bush and water water views. My favourite holes are the 2nd and 12th. This course has great green fees if you get on in the afternoon. $7 after 3 and free after 6. A good course if you live in the area.

Played here 13/3/08. What’s with the greens. The course needs a real clean up. Fairways are very rough. Won’t be back until something is done about the greens.

Played here last week and many times prior to this, the course is a good course for a player of mid skill level, good challenging par 3s are a bonus, course in resonable condition some patches on greens but overall a nice course

Played a week ago. Could they please mow the grass. Only thin strips on the middle of the fairways are mowed. One in our group had close encounter with a snake (17th) in the thick grass. Greens are not maintained at all with gashes, holes and pot marks all over. Cannot see value. Previous time, we were still at 15th at 6PM but the staff removed the flags.

Not bad for a public course. Pick of the holes is the 2nd (big elevation change from the tee to the green) Only a couple of bunkers on the whole course. Good value.

I used to be a cadet at hurstville golf course. Well designed golf course with many challenging holes including the 4th and 17th, Only one concern, there wasn’t enough trouble areas such as bunkers and water. Considering it is a public golf course it is kept in great condition and should be played at least once!!!!!

Play this course quite often and lately its fairways have been in shocking condition. There is no rough, just dirt and the fairways are bone dry and dead. Ther greens, however, remain the only positive about this course. The greens and fringe are always green and the putting surface is fast. It needs more bunkers and is sometimes overbooked. When the course gets consistent rain, it will be once again a godd public course.

They stuffed up my booking.

It rained.

Fairways are crap.

Tees are worse.

Greens are terrible.

Don't waste your money!

not a bad layout and greens are ok, but fairways are shocking. you are hitting of brown grass and sand and dirt at the moment. for a golfer who is just starting to hit the ball properly and take a proper divot, this course is cery frustrating as you never get a proper lie...im sorry, but unless im told its dramaticlly changed, i will not revisit.

This is a really nice and well kept course, the greens are always true. If it had had alot more bunkers and a club house it would be very popular. HOWEVER it is always and I mean always over booked on the weekend, maybe the gap between the times is the problem. Have played here 3 times this year and never finished under 5 hours, normally closer to 6hrs, many people walk off the course coz of the speed of play.

I normally play Boomerang each week but the dreaded water that's on the course breaks me every week. When I heard that this course has no water I jumped at the chance to book in my two mates to play here with me(thinking I'd beat them seeing as there was no water). How wrong was I? I really wanted to shoot under 100 and with no water I thought I would. Maybe my friends are right & I should stop using my putter on the fairways & instead try to play some real golf.

Well back to the drawing board, I'm off to "Radar's" little Par 3 @ Sylvania Waters to try and get some confidence back. Surely I can't get 100 there.

P.S To the greenskeeper. Sorry about all the divots on the fairways.

not a bad little public course. The fairways are in good condition & the greens are very quick. There is no water hazzards or nasty bunkers to cause you much trouble. Pretty straight forward course, if you were to shoot more than 96 you would have to be a pretty ordinary golfer or someone that has no short game. If you have trouble playing 17th holes on your rounds of golf then the 17th at hurstville will do you no favours. With a massive dogs leg to the left of the tee , i watched in embarresment as my 2 playing partners both mentally collapsed & hacked away to post very large scores on the 17th hole. Only negative is to many Par 3 on the cousre but overall a good course

to have a hit while not being to challenging. (except for 17thbunker who from reading his reviews i think will struggle on this easy course)

Although, located near a tidal mangrove bay, no hole has water in play. Maybe there should be. Because this course was quite dry when I played it. The course needs a dam so it can get water readily from it.

Hard greens are up on mounds that make lob chips, hard to stay on! Very tricky reads (I didnt sink a putt outside 3 feet!). Overall I shot a a dozen or so over par. Not many hazards on the course, as most greens are unprotected (no bunkers). The whole course has about a dozen bunkers, total.

Not bad value either, $22 for 18 holes on a weekday, and $25 on weekends.

Had a late arvo hit at Hurstville and to my surprise it cost only $7.00 for 9 holes after 3pm. Although there are 3 par 5's on the front 9 they are all under 500 mts but none the less provide a good challenge for the social player. the course is in great shape with pacey greens and fairly lush fairways. the 2nd & 4th holes are interesting par 3's. Worth a try

Hurstville is one of the better public courses in it's area. The courses is generally well-kept, and has a mix of holes that will challenge social players without being extremely tough. The front nine holes has several par 5's over hilly terrain, while the back nine has lots of par 3's, making the layout unbalanced between the front and back nines. The 2nd hole is an infamously short par 3, where the tee is on a hillside elevated high above the green almost directly below.

The course is spread over several different types of terrain - both flat and hilly.

Not bad for a public course. Generally well grassed throughout. The 2nd & 4th are both interesting par 3's.
