Iluka is at the mouth of the Clarence River on the Far North Coast of New South Wales.
The village, which is surrounded by national park, the river and the Pacific Ocean, boasts a challenging nine-hole all-weather golf course* with two sets of tees for 18-hole competitions.
The fairways are extremely well maintained and lead into couch greens which are always a delight to putt on.
The course http://www.ilukagolf.com also offers golfers that do not like crowds the very rare experience of playing a round and having the fairways to themselves.
And more reasons to stay ’n’ play in Iluka, we’re within an hour’s drive to 18-hole golf courses to the north, south and west.
(* Although Iluka is known as a nine-hole course, there are 10 holes with two sets of tees for eight holes all maintained by our greenskeeper and volunteers. The long-term goal is a 18-hole course).

Nine hole course with two sets of tees to add some variety, but a number were close to the same spot. We played it in September and it was in good condition. The fairways were reasonable and the greens were good, but a little slow. If you are in the area it is worth a hit, but be aware that if you are just playing as a social player they ask you to use the single set of Yellow Tees for both nines. Certainly playable and an easy walk, but Yamba and Maclean are much better value. Green Fees of $25 are not much less than the other two

I do not kknow whhat has happened recently at this course but it is in immaculate condition. The greens will rival any within 150kms, the fairways have obviously enjoyed recent rain as they are amazing right now. I play courses from melbourne to brissy and if you are on the fairway or green the condition is as good as any public course. for now anyway….

the squaredriver must of turned pro by now if he thinks you can hit it anywhere and still score and maybe if he would like to come and play again and see for himself how much the course has changed and see if he can break the course record

I’m afraid this course is one of the worst on the north coast, 9 holes of sandy wasteland unless there have been above average rains, you can hit it anywhere and still score well. The greens are tiny and the place really suffers when compared to other courses nearby, such as Yamba or Maclean.

Having played this course on and off for the past five years, i am pleased to say that this course is improving rapidly into a loverly challenging public golf course. The Iluka course offers well maintained fairways leading into a bevy of raised postage stamp sized greens. The greens are beutifully prepared, many being surrounded by wellplaced, shallow bunkers.

Not only is this course a pleasant challenge it also offers those golfers that do not like crowds that very rare experience of playing a round of golf and having the course to yourself.(not during school holidays)

Iluka will challenge all levels of golfer and has the added bennifit of being placed in an isolated coastal town with great fishing and one of the best positioned pubs in NSW.
