Last played here 3 years ago, then was 9 hole ranging from 100 to 180 yards. Just a great little par 3 to practice the short game. Challenging!!!
Now, in recent years, half the course has been sold to UQ to build student accommodation.
For those who play this the first time for a while, things have change. It is still poorly signed and advertised and unless you know where the course is, you most likely wont find it. The facilities are non existing, with an old demountable shed for the club house, that has next to nothing in it. It was not even open when I turned up and had no info like how much, the course lay out etc. Later found out it is $9 all day play. To the course. 4 of the old holes still remain. Thank god cause I could only find out were 2 others were. Later found out there is 9 holes but you need the map from the club house to find your way around. With the new course, longest hole is 160 yards, a few are 50 to 70 yards the rest are 100 to 120 yards.
The course itself is poor to just ok. The fairway, greens and tee off area's are almost back yard standard. These are no real hazards beside one little creek right behind the 6th green and some trees hear and there. You don't get good fairway run because the grass is to long and the greens run here, there and damn everywhere. All in all, it is bad and needs TLC with a lot of regular and proper maintenance.
Several ok things on the course are the price( I played 36 holes for $9 in 2.5 hours) and it would suit players who want to take kids between say 5 and 13 years for a hit around the ground. This course is also ok for one other thing. It lets you know how you are playing for ranges on clubs from the 7 to PW. If you good with these, you will do well. Lastly, good shooting will get close to hole in ones. I missed out on 3 times by about 20 cm, so for this reason only, I will go back one day. Hopefully the course will still be there.
