Measures a rather short 5986m Par 73 layout with four par 3s ranging from 122-190m, nine par 4s ranging from 285-393m and five par 5s ranging from 439-477m.

Course has couch grass-like smooth greens with good roll with winter rye/kikuyu grass fairways. The layout has tree-lined fairways which are mostly medium-sized with a few gentle hills and doglegs. There are only 5 bunkers on the course and there are no water hazards.

Highlights include: the short opening Par 5 slight dogleg right 439m 1st (index 12) with a fairway bunker 40m short left of the bunkerless green; the 477m slight dogleg left and uphill 2nd (index 8) with a blind teeshot to a tree-lined wide fairway; the 285m slight dogleg left 3rd (index 10) with tall pine trees guarding the dogleg left corner; the 122m uphill 4th (index 16) with 2 bunkers short; the 393m dogleg right 12th (index 1) with a blind teeshot with OOB far right; the 317m uphill 13th (index 13) which doglegs 90 degrees to the right from 180m off the tee to another bunkerless green; the 452m slight bend left 16th (index 15) with the clubhouse behind the green which is guarded by a bunker short; and the 386m straight but slightly uphill 18th (index 3) to a bunkerless green.

Despite beginning with a variety of 4 good holes the course lacks challenging holes and plays quite short for a Par 73 layout. With only 1 bunker on the back nine amd an absence of any hazards, I feel the course lets itself down as the back nine has a good layout with its undulating tree-lined fairways.

Keith is a town of about 1200 people in the northern edge of the Limestone Coast region around 50km (or 30 minutes) north-west of Bordertown along the Dukes Highway and 1 hour north of Naracoorte along the Riddoch Highway.

Played here 4th October 2011 with $20 green fees. Course access is about 4.5km east along Emu Flat Road off the Dukes Highway.

Keith golf club is situated about 6km from the small highway town of Keith in the states south east. The course has been built on sandy dunes which are covered in large gum trees and small sections of pines. The course can be very challenging to the mid range player and is obe of the few par 73 courses around.
The course is 18 holes with medium sized fairways which are at their best in winter. The greens are rather small but contain many undulating parts requiring sound putting skills, which some of us lack. The course is quite good in summer too but the hot dry days take their toll on the fairways especially.
Holes to note are the par 4 3rd which requires a long straight drive and a chance of an eagle or birdie or the safer, softer option of laying up and the par 4 13th which is horseshoe shaped and tempts every player to have a crack at the green. It can be done but most attempts end up in the pine forrest which lines this challenging hole.
The par 3’s all rewuire accurate irons as the approach to the green in often quite narrow. The course starts with two par 5’s which are quite long and require concentration from the satrt of the round.
