The challenges arrive quickly at Kenton Vally, first and most important decision being which carpark to use, the one near the clubrooms or the one over the hill closer to Chateau Reg. A difficult first hole awaits the unsuspecting golfer, with the possibility of a rare sighting of a car on the first fairway always in the back of your mind. Be prepared to attack this course sober, the liqour licencing department have been unable to trek the distance to Kenton Valley. Hot refreshing meals are served cold and more in the shape of chocolate bars and ice creams. The course climbs the side of Mt Campbell and there is not a gopher or Weasel in sight.
Kenton Valley is unique as it is the most Northern course people from the Fleurieu Peninsula will travel to. The best place for after-golf refreshments is the nearby Lobethal hotel, just make sure your facial hair is acceptable as there is a strict dress code there.
All in all a good course to play, with you leaving with a satisfied feeling as the fanta can fades into the distance.
