Kooringal is an 18 hole 6076 metre long Par 71 parkland Championship Course with many trees and a varied and challenging layout. The Course, adjoining Altona’s western beach is built on sandy loam that drains easily so that play is seldom interrupted by wet weather.

Kooringal’s excellent all-weather qualities are recognised by the VGA, which has held a number of events at the Course, including a regional qualifying round for the Australian Open.

The Pro Shop has a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere for golfers to meet prior to a game or to simply browse at the latest equipment available in the golf industry. Services provided include Teaching and Clubfitting, Corporate Golf Days, Professional repairs and gift certificates.

Nice course but fairway grass was a little thick which made pushing buggie a little bit hard.
Overall nice experience, except for the old guy in the pro shop who was very arrogant. Green fee are normally $50 but because we were using golf passports, they put the price to $60.
I overheard him say, ’we’re making it cheaper, not giving it away’.
Go play at Medway, more friendly and welcoming.

A really good flat course.

I also play regularly at the course. The changes they have made are a positive – particularly the 2nd, 14th and 15th.

The course is not overly long – usually get around between 3hrs 50min to 4hrs 15min which is great, although challenging enough

Course is on a sandy base (being near Altona beach) and fairways are usually in good condition given the weather conditions. Appearently the club has everything in place for grey water and are waiting on City West Water to finalise the process – which will provide even better playing conditions

Clubhouse is very nice – with members bar, bistro area and general public bar with TAB and pokies

I play this course regularly with a mate of mine who is a member there. It is a great local course, the new course changes are fantastic, the only downside at the moment are the greens, they are patchy and inconsistent in the way they roll.
