played kurri today for the first time and thought it to be a very nice course.surprisingly green giving where it is located but still nice.the greens were probably the best ive putted on in the hunter inc resort courses as they were true and unblemished didnt have one putt jump on me at all.will definatly be back for only $15.

PROS

  • fantastic true rolling greens, tight fairways.

I drove out from Sydney to play this course on a day off work yesterday. Just wanted to go for a drive and play somewhere different. The course was in pretty poor condition, (prefered lies) very untidy and greens slow. ( They had not long ago been spiked and dressed) The course isnt a bad layout and has a few good holes. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day but I was dissapointed and although it cost just $20 I would have rather paid more to play one of the resort courses. I would say it is a good course for any one learning the game and wanting to play a proper full length course.

Kurri is one of the most forgiving courses in the Hunter Valley. Hidden away in the township of Heddon Greta the fairways are wide and the greens are very well maintained. You would be hard pressed (or have a major slice) to loose a ball on this great course. Well worth a visit and very friendly staff at the Pro shop.

Kurri is a hidden jem. When last time all the clubs on the central coast were flooded we still got a game at Kurri. The greens are the best I have played on true and fast all the time. The front 9 is very good with with varied holes including a par 3 water carry. The back 9 is a bit up and down but is still a test of skill. The club house is small but staff are freindly and you can get a good feed.I have played here a number of times and will most certainly return wet on the coast or not.

Kurri is one of the most underrated courses in the Hunter with superb greens and fairways to match. The layout has been modified from its up and back style to include some great holes which would challenge any type of golfer. It is common knowledge that the greens are as good as any in the Hunter, with the course always on the improve, it is worth the visit if your in the Hunter area and looking for a cheaper alternative then some of the more overrated, expensive resort style courses this area has to offer.
