Measures 5832m Par 70 with four par 3s ranging from135-177m, twelve par 4s ranging from 278-431m and two par 5s ranging from 457-481m. At the moment the course is very lush with most greens devoid of bunkers and almost all play slow. Teeboxes are tiny and a little bumpy.
Course is tree-lined on both sides of the fairways with wide landing areas on the corners of most doglegs. The wide fairways are forgiving. The par 4s here are the most challenging part of the course, but with so little bunkers and wide fairways it is not much of a challenge to the frequent golfer.
As mentioned previously, you begin your outward nine with a blind teeshot over a crest at the 431m Par 4 10th which doglegs to the left with a wide fairway to an unbunkered green. This is index 1 on scorecard simply for its length as like most holes on the course, once you see the green there are no more surprises.
The 135m 11th is over a dam. All par 3s with the exception of the 11th have you hitting the same club off the tee, which is pretty dull.
Played here 04/08/2010 and paid $20 green fees. It can get bitterly cold here with the golf club located approximately 540m above sea level.

Play here about a month ago on a Sunday with my lady.
Course in pretty good condition and good value.
Just look out for the magpies swooping on the 18th.

Played last week and the fairways are totally devoid of decent grass. Took 5 hours to play. Best part was the bar. Needs better signage as well. Poor value for 20 bucks.

I played there some time ago. It was in pretty good condition and was quite picturesque. Lots of trees. My only problem was the number of branches and sticks on the fairways. (It must have been quite windy the day before I played).

Kyneton is a pleasant tree lined course that is best played in the later part of the year after the winter rains have passed. It is at this time that you will find the course in it's best condition. If you hit the ball from right to left then Kyneton is certainly a course that you can post a good score at, as there are 9 doglegs from right to left. The pick of these is the long par 4 10th where you will need a long right to left shot followed by another long iron to reach the small green that slopes from front to back. An enjoyable course, however, since the removal of some stands of pines the course has lost a little of it's character.

I have played Kyneton many times and never tire of the layout, plenty of variety, long par 4’s, short par 4,s and plenty of mid range par 3.s, also two water holes. There is a practice fairway for tuning up and a very nice clubhouse.
The greens are always in excellent condition and whilst the fairways dry out in summer, in spring they are perfect. More bunkering would be great but bunkering comes with a maintenance cost which no doubt the club cannot afford at present, operating on a very tight budget.
