An 'unknow and hidden gem' is the best way to describe LEGC...and why it isnt so well known probably comes from the fact that the idea of top quality golf courses in the east of the state does not resonate for most.
With water in play on the drive on the opening two holes and then the stretch from three through seven running down Ninety Mile Beach (which is in play and not OOB!!) the start is stunning. A slightly more parkland back nine has the grand fouteenth par five followed by the short fifteenth, an elevated tee shot over another pond to a large well bunkered green. If LEGC wants a signature hole then this is an easy one to sell.
Port Fairy, Horsham and Warnambool, along with the Murray courses are well known destinations...LEGC shopud be too. One of the most weather resistant course imaginable, most other courses can be closed and it can be in excellent condition. LEGC is without doubt in the top 5 of our country courses and is one all keen golfers should avail themselves of playing.
