One of the great country courses I have played. OK I am biases my wife used to live in the town. But the course is great. It makes you think off the tee and simply not just bomb and hope.
Its drought out there but the greens staff do a great job. The greens are in great condition.
Also the pro there Jason is one of the good guys of golf. Always goes that extra mile.
A good course and worth a visit if you are in the area. Quite a number of interesting holes and also the finishing 17th and 18th gives you opportunity to snatch victory or to snatch defeat!

Well this little course really took me by suprise the first I played, well maintained faiways with solid quick greens and some very long tight par 4’s makes for a challenging 4 hours, bunkers appear on most holes which is rare in these parts and canal which runs smack bang through the middle if the course adds a little to the day, in my opinion the best course in the MIA.

A nice country course, that is always in good condition even in dry times.
It can play a little short & many of the green complexes lack interest. If you are in the area it is worth a game.

Superb 18 holes in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area with fully irrigated fairway and grass greens that can be deceiving.
A good test of accurate golf.

Leeton was established in 1913 and measures 5824m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 138-183m, ten par 4s ranging from 300-383m and four par 5s ranging from 448-501m.
Course has a short-medium sized tree-lined layout with dry kikuyu fairways with some dirt patches, slow dead patch ridden bent grass greens and bare rough with large areas of red dirt under the treeline. Construction and planning is under way of converting all 18 greens to T1 bentgrass with the 18th green already sewn. There are 7 bunkers on the course.
Highlights include: the 501m slight dogleg right 3rd (index 4) with OOB far right and a yellow staked creek across the fairway 50m short of the bunkerless green; the 183m 6th (index 6) with 2 bunkers right; the 468m gentle double dogleg right then left 8th (index 11) with a 20-25m tall tree in the middle of the fairway about 200m off the tee with a heavily tree-lined fairway to a green guarded by a bunker right (a good hole – shame the green is poor with dead bumpy bentgrass); the 382m slight dogleg right 16th (index 1) with a front-sloping bunkerless green; and the 454m straight 17th (index 10) with a dam far right and a creek across the fairway 150m out of the bunkerless green to avoid.
Apart from the 15th all par 3s are bunkered which is good to see and the par 5s are varied and challenging to score well on. But 7 out of the 10 par 4s are less than 350m which is a little boring hitting the same club into a green.
Leeton is one of the larger towns in the Riverina with about 7000 people and is 30 minutes south of Griffith and 20 minutes north-west of Narrandera along the Irrigation Way.
Played here 24/07/2011 with $26 greens fees course is located on Acacia Avenue towards the southern side of the town. Leeton is well worth the hit as the proshop and its members are very friendly with good practice facilities include driving nets and a putting green.
Although the course conditioning was a little disappointing, Leeton is probably my favourite layout in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA).
