This is what you get when someone has a great idea to create a golf course – I have creeks, dams, a couple of trees. Then they don’t plant grass, dig bunkers, provide drainage or think of any playability factors.

If you read reviews, save your money.

I tried to give it half a star but I have to give it 1 to register a review.

Wet, soggy and in need of some major attention. This course is a goats track that does not drain well at all. When I played I couldn’t remember there being any rain for the past week and it was still water logged. If your ball does not end up on the fairway it goes missing as the rough is exceptionally overgrown. Only course I have played on that you can hit a ball dead straight on the fairway and it ends up in the bushes because of dirt hills on the fairway.

On the plus side it is very cheap to play a round of golf.

Reading the reviews of this course I wasn’t expecting much, but this would have to be one of the worst kept and unimaginative courses in Brisbane. I don’t think the green’s were actually alive, I think they were sheets of glass painted green? All greens sloped from back to front, so as long as you could see the pin you just had to keep it short of the hole to have an uphill putt, and even then if you left your putt short of the hole, the slightest gust of wind would blow it back to your feet such were the speeds of the greens.

The easiest way to play this course is to hit driver from the tee, then punch a seven iron along the ground, no matter how far you are out from the green, it will run all the way and there’s no obstacles, such as bunkers, in your way.

I’ve seen a few negative reviews regarding this course and I have to say some comments are a bit unfair. This golf course is for the punters who can’t afford the Glades and do not expect the same sort of greens and fairways one finds for $109.00 a round. Augusta this ain’t, but for $18 for as many holes of golf you like on a Saturday afternoon, it’s a bargain. The staff are friendly and I’ve never had issues with back ups on the Tee, nor have I encountered an angry member or social player on the course that would result from back ups on the Tee.

If you are getting into the game, or enjoy a round without having to fork out $100, definitely give this course a try. The lack of sand bunkers and the smallish greens provide a great environment to hone your skills. High handicappers and gold enthusiasts who enjoy lush fairways and wide greens or resort courses, look elsewhere.

Played here on Saturday 18th of June and definately had an enjoyable round of golf.
At $20 for walking 18 holes, it was definately value for money. The course was in reasonable shape, however I can easily see that with only minimal rain, this would make the course extremely soft and muddy!

The layout of the course is very clever, as the driver is not the go to club all the time. With sharp dog leg holes, sometimes some iron finesse is required to avoid danger.

It is definately a busy course (we had to start at 6:40 and the car park was full even then!), but it flowed really well and the staff and players were very helpful and friendly!

If you want resort quality course, I’d advise that Logan isn’t for you, but if you want value for your $20 then I’d say Logan ticks the boxes!

Played here on the 21st May 2011. Grabbed a Spreets voucher which was $29 for 2 players to play 18 holes, cart included, and 2 drinks arter the round.
After playing I see why the deal was so cheap.
The course was not in good shape with excess water everywhere. Several balls were lost in muddy spots, puddles of water everywhere, and the carts just tear up the wet fairways.
The day wasn’t too bad with the voucher making it a cheap round, but even if the deal is repeated, I probabaly wouldn’t return here.

PROS

  • Cheap round with a Spreets voucher

Cons

  • Extremely waterlogged
  • Course is not very challenging

Played there in May 2011…we had a fair bit of rain, that is probably why the course seems to be flooded on every hole, especially the fairway and rough. and I hope that is why they have not put much attention in mowing the grass on the whole golf course OTHER THAN THE GREEN.

Fairway plays like rough…not to mention it’s badly flooded.
Out of 4 players, we lost about 10 balls when balls are driven down the middle of the fairway.

Cart got stuck in the middle of the fairway due to so much water and wet grass….I dont think walking the course is an option on that week or two.

No bunkers, 1 or 2 water …..so this is a why it’s called the friendliest golf course in Australia.

For the coupon they keep on offering on the online deals for $29 (with cart+beer), it’s not a bad deal if u dont really mind how the condition of golf course is, but just want to have fun.

But I will be unlikely to return as you can pay an extra 10 bucks and play a bit better course compared to logan city.

Staff and the Bar are friendly though~~~ nice pro shop too!

PROS

  • Pro shop heaps of stuff, friendly service, easy golf course

Cons

  • no bunkers, not much water, easily flooded if it rained constantly for a day or two.

The reviews of this course has surprised me a lot. I have only joined recently after 30 years break (bringing up family), and I find this course presents some challenges. I believe the course greens, fairways, and tee points have improved now as I have spoken to many long standing members. Play the course 2-3 days after rain, you can play well, and enjoy, and know this, there is a ’preferred lie’ rule in place!. There are many friendly members, staff, and the pro’s are smiling and happy to see and help you. I look forward to playing the next game.

I recieved a free game for 4 people with 2 carts so we played and enjoyed the day because we were playing golf.
The course has 27 holes, the 18 we played did not have 1 bunker there is no real tee areas and there is no real definition of were the fairway meets the rough. The course is not very challenging but does throw up a few dog legs etc.
Much better courses around for the money(if we did pay).

For the money its fair. Best time to play it is maybe a week after some medium steady rain. Because it is very low lying and a clay base (in spots)a bit too much rain and it floods not enough and its bone dry. That being said it is a nice forgiving layout and probably represents solid value for money. If you dont expect to be playing the likes of Carbrook or Windaroo you might find it quite acceptable.

Save your money. After 3 weeks of fine weather how can there be stagnant water all over the course. On alot of fairways it looks like it poured down overnight with the mud and water in low sections. Compared to other courses the drainage is abhorant and with carts allowed on the course, there are massive tyre tracks to tip over your buggy where ever you go. But the amazing thing is that with all the rain that has fallen over the last 8 months most of the fairways are brown areas of grass with large areas of dirt that become mud pits. For what they charge go to Pacific Golf Course or Carbrook.

Let’s face it, the world is full of whingers. What is often forgotten when people write these reviews is that not every golf club parallels Augusta National, Pebble Beach or Cypress Point.

If you’re going to fork out $300 for a round, or even $100 for that matter, the course better be damn good. I’ve played courses that have cost me a small fortune and I’ve been disappointed because my high expectations weren’t met. Logan City Country Club cost me $30.

For $30, I expect a challenging course dotted with club members and weekend golfers, friendly staff and a nicely-maintained course. Granted, Logan City is missing the manicured hedges and calligraphied signposts, but it’s also without the pastel-panted Lexus drivers and $8 Coronas.

The course’s 27 holes all present some kind of challenge and on the day we played, the greens rolled true and were in very good condition and the player groupings moved along quite well – a big plus on a Sunday when you have other things to do on the day. The drinks cart was upon us every two holes (which is impressive) and the staff were quite willing to allow us to switch nines at the halfway mark.

Logan City is not a long course and a low handicapper should walk away with an ego boost, however, its many 300m Par Fours contain enough small undulations, doglegs and tricky greens to test anyone. On the down side, the tee off areas were uneven and resembled the rough at times, the fairways needed a mow and a few bunkers may have added some variety. This is where courses like Carbrook and Windaroo (courses that represent the benchmark in SE QLD courses under $40) have it over Logan City.

This course has copped some awful reviews and to be honest, they were all a little unfair. Logan City gave me my most enjoyable round in months and to be frank, I didn’t walk away from there looking like I’d been bushbashing for a month. Heck, I think I still would’ve been allowed into the Hope Island Clubhouse.

This course is an absolute complete waste of time..They should be ashamed to call it a course..It is a large paddock with some miserable greens scattered around.

Be sure to use a set of second hand clubs and most importantly bring a few extra changes of clothes if you are thinking about playing at logan. By calling this course a goat track would be an insult to goats.

Not to bad to start out on, but this course can become pretty tedious quite quickly.

I played a round here the other day. The only think that remotely makes this a golf course is the greens. The tees are basically dirt and the fairways are poorly taken care of. I found the staff members very unwelcoming as being a visitor.

Having just moved to the area, I searched for a club to call my 'local'. I played Mt Warren Park then saw a membership add for this course in the paper - for $850 (approx) you get your membership and a set of custom fitted Wilson clubs. Given my current set will need replacing soon, two birds for less than $900 was worthwhile looking into - so I went for a round. In short i shouldn't have bothered. I got more dirt/sand on me in 18 holes than I would have done if I hit into a bunker on every hole on another course, except this place has no bunkers. Even though I play off 2, most 'suburban' courses offer at least few holes that present a challenge - not this place. A round of 67 off the stick is usually something I rave about for days. On this course though, I was dissapointed with the score given how easy the course is, as much as i was with the course itself. No wonder they offer a free set of clubs with their membership. I'll continue to play Mt Warren Park i think

Just reading jesse91 review And i find it hard to believe that jesse91 is sicking up for this club... Most other clubs around the area dont have dust bowls on there tees, fairyways that is right the only watering logan dose is there greens so the tees dont have a lot off grass on them at all. And for a $27.00 greens fee there is a alot of other couses around the area for around $32.00 where you can get green grass on the firaways and tees. And as for the clubs president meybe he should go and get some golf lessons. And dont for get to say jesse91 that logan has no bunkers that is right no bunkers at all... sorry sorry they have one it is a practice bunker on the chipping green. Like rosskd side "Take plenty off water and your grass mat and a dust mask for your round in the dustbowl 2006."

Logan, despite being a little dry due to the water restrictions (isnâÄôt every course?) is perfect for amateurs, low handicappers, children and ladies. Located just between the coast and inner Brisbane, it provides a challenge to all ages and abilities. The atmosphere at Logan is great, from the pro shop staff through to the bar and kitchen staffs, the experience at Logan is made even better. The juniors are well looked after by the junior co-ordinator as well, I know from experience. Whoever thinks Logan is an âÄòeasyâÄô course, I challenge you to make anything better than a bogie on the 3rd, 5th, 9th or 21st. (thatâÄôs right, Logan has 27 holes). I have also heard on the grape vine that the clubs president got a 12 on the 3rd hole, a par three.

Just played here and it feels like i have been eating dirt for the last 4 hours. No trouble on this course as there is little water and don't take your sandy as there isn't a bunker in sight. One thing you might want to take is a synthetic mat to hit off to save you clubs from damage. Take plenty off water and your grass mat and a dust mask for your round in the dustbowl 2006.

I have been a member at logan for over one year now and for a trip to golf every weekend for practise is just great...

the course doesnt have much water and no bunkers but the layout will test your game...

compared to other courses it is very easy to hit under your average score...

the tee off areas are alright, the fairways are a bit shabby but aroud the green and the green is certainly a well maintained AREA..

so if you want to go for a little muck around game or practise it is great to play at logan..

I am 15 years old and have only just recently become a member of this coure and i am so far very happy with it. despite the fact that there are no bunkers on this coure it is still a very challenging course because of the water traps. Since i became a member here my handicap has improved by 5 strokes. The staff here are very freindly and the drinks cart is very handy. The only bad thing is that alot of groups will not let me pass them when i am playing much faster then them. i think that they are to proud to be passed by a 15 year old. But that isn't the clubs fault. The driving range is also very usefully and i often use it before a round. Overall i am very happy with this course and will continue visiting it for years to come. I aim to play in many of the clubs tournaments and hopefully place well in the.

I played 18 holes on the weekend... 19 to 27 and then 1 to 9. 19 to 27 are quite good although the fairways are very hard... one of the members playing behind me described them laughingly as "concrete". the greens were good though. holes 1 to 9 were much nicer... more lush...

im a member at this course it is okay but it could be better the fairways are too hard to hit off the greens are probably the best part of the course always looks good. it has always been a easy course.

I have played Logan Golf Course on about 3 different occasions, because of it location and have found the course to be extremely disappointing. On the last occasion I played there it had been raining quite heavily a few weeks before hand and found the course in terrible condition, the fairways were extremely overgrown and unmown and the state of some of the greens was atrocious, namely the 10th which had barren spots and all sorts of debris on it. Another thing I found was how unfriendly some of the players were when I was playing on my own and they were in groups, not one of them offered to let me play through, I think they could show some courtesy to other users. I believe with the standard of this course being what it is, that it is overpriced when comparing it with other courses in the same price bracket such as Windaroo lake and the Gold Coast Country club. Overall the course itself is not that bad, just the maintenance leaves a little to be desired.

27. karamon | Rated | 13 Sep 2004 | Add A Review

Overall I'd have to say this course is quite pleasant - the lack of sandbunkers does not mean the holes are easy. Some good water placement and lengthy holes means some shots still require your utmost attention.

The club staff are friendly and helpful and the food and drink are well priced and enjoyable.

All 27 holes are quite playable - the back 9 being slightly more difficult than the first 18.

If I had to make a negative comment I'd have to say that some of the members (and non members I suppose) are a little lacking in golf ettiquette. I am a member of this club and even though it hasn't happened too much lately on occasion I'll have pairs of players not let me through when I am hitting the shots better than they are and on my own. So it is not so much a fault of the club, more just a bit of ignorance amongst some of it's players.

Sunday afternoons and midweek are the quieter times to play too.

This is a great course for the beginner, not to challenging but alot of vaariounce in difficulties from hole to hole. The middle nine and front nine best and the back nine well if it wasn't there nobody would miss it!

If you handicap is over a hundred your right at home here. With no bunkers at all you have aa sweet aproach to every flag.

I'm sorry but I can't quite agree with the current reviews, I found the course to be very boring no character, staff to be very rude and quite frankly green fees very over priced.

I wouldn't say one of the best in Brisbane but everyones entitled to there opinion, do try and see for yourself.

I thorougly enjoy playing at Logan City, not just for the golf but the atmosphere of the place as well. From the Pro shop staff to the bar and kitchen staff they all make the experience more enjoyable. As for the course well everyhole is a challenge. So much factors to contend with. Water spread through out, trees in just the right place to frustrate you and later in the day the wind to contend with. Can't say much more than that. Play it to believe it...

The Logan City Golf Course is a fairly open course, but this is set to change over the next few years with a lot of small trees and shrubs being planted all over the course. You have 10 of the 27 holes running along side the Logan River, plus another 12 holes that have water, either a creek running along side of them or to cross. So open as it may be, it is still a challenge to play. You will also find the greens to be amongst the best in Brisbane.
