Located about half way between the Golf Coast and central Brisbane, Logan City Golf Course makes a perfect golfing stopover in bushland surrounds. The 27-hole course, offers a change of skill each nine holes, to keep professionals and amateurs alert.
Apart from the golf course, the 30 bay day/night driving range is also very popular. Other facilities and services include a restaurant, bar, pro-shop, club hire, motorised carts, practice bunker, chipping and putting greens and tuition.

Let’s face it, the world is full of whingers. What is often forgotten when people write these reviews is that not every golf club parallels Augusta National, Pebble Beach or Cypress Point.
If you’re going to fork out $300 for a round, or even $100 for that matter, the course better be damn good. I’ve played courses that have cost me a small fortune and I’ve been disappointed because my high expectations weren’t met. Logan City Country Club cost me $30.
For $30, I expect a challenging course dotted with club members and weekend golfers, friendly staff and a nicely-maintained course. Granted, Logan City is missing the manicured hedges and calligraphied signposts, but it’s also without the pastel-panted Lexus drivers and $8 Coronas.
The course’s 27 holes all present some kind of challenge and on the day we played, the greens rolled true and were in very good condition and the player groupings moved along quite well – a big plus on a Sunday when you have other things to do on the day. The drinks cart was upon us every two holes (which is impressive) and the staff were quite willing to allow us to switch nines at the halfway mark.
Logan City is not a long course and a low handicapper should walk away with an ego boost, however, its many 300m Par Fours contain enough small undulations, doglegs and tricky greens to test anyone. On the down side, the tee off areas were uneven and resembled the rough at times, the fairways needed a mow and a few bunkers may have added some variety. This is where courses like Carbrook and Windaroo (courses that represent the benchmark in SE QLD courses under $40) have it over Logan City.
This course has copped some awful reviews and to be honest, they were all a little unfair. Logan City gave me my most enjoyable round in months and to be frank, I didn’t walk away from there looking like I’d been bushbashing for a month. Heck, I think I still would’ve been allowed into the Hope Island Clubhouse.
