Different from last year with poor of time organization. We had book on 10.30 which is off-peak but was huge surprised when 2 groups fellow guy has pass on queue and get through without booking. We spent first 9holes nearly 3hrs !!
No need to book just pretend you come early and go!
Course condition 6/10
Green condition 6/10
Suit for beginner only

For the average guy/miss, thn this one’s probably a good bet to have a “belt” of a few balls, that’s if you don’t take your golf too seriously. However, this isn’t the case for my friend, or myself.
We arrived to find a friendly staff member and a clean clubhouse/tavern. Made our way to he green and off we went. This is where the fun pretty much ended. The fairways are pretty tight, the rough is unforgiving and the greens are fast and flat.
I haven’t played many course in my few years of playing. I do know, however, that there is a dress code and ethics that one must respect. Not to mention the respect that one player should have for another. On numerous occassions, the gentleman in the blue singlet that was playing before us, insisted on playing chance with his shots. In which my friend and myself almost became the unwanted receivers of rouge shots. Some people…
Apart from almost being hit with golf balls. It wasn’t too bad. But that’s exactly how this course is. Not bad. Not ok, just not bad.

challenging. I play hear most weeks, its one of those courses that rewards you if ur hitting straight but punishes u if u dont. i dont agree with dirtbag about the greens since they been cored about 5 weeks ago there really smooth and prob best they have ever been, and ive never had trouble holding the greens all though i do hit real high. if ur on it will reward u have to play smart though i shot my best score for that course 3 weeks ago a 3 over 75 then came out next week and shot 83 so gotta be on ur good day the only thing i hate about this course is the rough u run off fairway very unluckly that u wont be sittin up against a big clump of weed but over all its a good challenge

Hard and dirty. These are two words I use regularly to describe this golf course, in particular the greens, attached to the otherwise only notable feature of Casuarina and the surrounding area - the Tavern, and you're gonna need a stiff drink after this round. Everytime I play this course, around once every 4-5 weeks lately, I end the round angry, bitter, dark, frustrated and promising myself I just wont come back for this sort of humiliation or beating ever again. But I do. This course is a challenge no doubt about it, and the main reason that is so is because the greens are small and hard, and you just cant hold 'em when you hit 'em. As far as length is concerned the course smacks of public and very often it's your inability to work your tee shots that takes you out of contention for hitting the otherwise easily reachable greens. That's forgivable though, and for those who regularly play metro courses and the like you know what you're likely to get in terms of length before you take to the 1st tee. But even when you're driving is on and you're putting yourself within 2nd shot wedge to short-iron distance consistently, the greens can buck what is apparently a solid approach shot right off the surface leaving you seething. Even with the rain we've had in the last couple of months (May/June '05) I still cant get a ProV1 to hold the greens out here and if you can even find a pitch mark to repair on any of the dance floors then good luck getting your tool in the ground, without breaking your wrist, to have a chop at it. Nothing disappoints me on a golf course than bad greens and I seldom get a nice roll out of these babies. The fairway widths are fairly generous, and the rough and treelines are reasonably forgiving and spraying your drives can be a hit or miss affair as to whether you've got a chance of recovery or not, but more often than not you have. Think sandy lies like the treelined areas of Wembley Downs and you're coming close. Course condition has been pretty lush lately, but show me a course in WA this Autumn with the rain we've had that isn't. Unfortunately the practice facilities you'll see as you come into the club house to sign up for your 18 holes of misery are an indication of what is to come. The range boasts only 150m to hit a few short irons and the putting green has room for only about 3 people at once. This course frustrates me and I'm hanging out for the round I know I should be able to shoot here so I can kick this course into touch forever and make it a distant, but very dark, memory in my otherwise enjoyable golfing history. For the sake of golf, I'd like to be argue that for 18 holes of golf this is $20 well spent but the reality is I would probably get less angry hitting two buckets of balls on the range and not have to drive for 30+ minutes from Perth City to do it. However, if for no other reason, play this course once so every other course you play thereafter will appear a lot better.
