Maryborough would have to rate as one of the top regional public courses in southern Queensland. Most fairways demand accuracy and throw in several bunkers around every green and you can be punished very quickly. The bunkers at this course are a real feature. Some in particular would have to be close to 2m in depth which is a daunting prospect for most golfers. The course also features some scenic water hazards especially the lake that follows you down the 8th and is in play on the par 3 9th. One of the holes to look out for is the par 3 17th named ’The Wrecker’. At 184m it needs a long iron shot to make the green and anything left leaves you either hitting out of or over the towering sand traps that guard the putting surface. There are challenging aspects on all the 18 holes at Maryborough which keeps it interesting and makes this par 70 course a must play when visiting the region.

What a great course, and so much fun. Sunday novelty events are great. Shotgun starts, 3 club events, ambroses. Cant’ wait for sundays each week.

And they treat visitors so well.

My home course, I have played most courses in the area and Maryborough is the best IMHO. It can be cruel if you stray off the fairways as I often do costing you a shot to chip out of trees. The course is well manicured by dedicated ground staff.

Great and friendly Pro Shop staff with carts available and cold beer :).

Divot is incorrect there are toilets available in the centre of the course at the ground staff area but they are not easy to see I must admit just to the right of the 12th hole green and 3rd hole fairway, locals are aware of them.

My brother in law from out of town (off 3 hcp) was amazed as he never had a bad lie for the round, if you can hit straight that is what you can expect.

Having grown up and played at Maryborough Golf Club at high school it was a pleasure to return to play there after 17 years. Good to see it is still the best course in the region, its a shame you get idiots who vandalize the greens that are close to the road as the 6th green looked like it had oil poured on it and had burnt the green apart from that excellent.Green fees $15/9 $29/18

I really enjoyed this course. The greens are very well maintained, the fairways are plush and it’s very scenic. Coming up the 8th towards the clubhouse, it almost feels like you’re playing in a comp back in the 50’s or 60’s. With a fairway stuck between a lake and a row of palms, adorned with a bushy tree bang in the middle of the fairway just before the green, it’s little wonder they named this hole “ululah”.

Too many wayward shots on this course or poorly planned putts and you might want to leave the scorecard behind.

With friendly staff and good prices (~40% discount if you’re a member of another local club), this course is by far and away one of the best courses in the region.

The downside is that the only toilets around are at the clubhouse!

Having travelled to the area for 20 years I had never played it. At $15.00 for green fees I wasn't expecting that much but loved it. Par 3s are the little gems requiring pin point lofted clubs to make birdie or par. Quick to move around a and a few baleout areas for stray drives. Lovely club house and friendly staff. This is now a must do on my travels up there.

Played this course on a few occasions now and I must say that it gets better everytime. The course is beautifully kept, the greenkeepers deserve a big rap for the condition they keep the course. A tough but fair course, use good course management and you should stay out of trouble but try to many risky shots and you will be made to pay dearly for any errors! There are three holes(8,9 and 18) where water comes into play but it is not particularly difficult to stay out of trouble. As mentioned earlier a tough but fair golf course, good pro shop and nicely situated 19th hole. Try it out you will enjoy Maryborough's premier course.
