The course is open a few times a year and consists of 9 black goil greens and wide natural grass fairways with no bunkers. Like Goolgowi, Merriwagga closes from October til Autumn, but remains waist high scrubs for the times of the year where the harvest comes in.
The course is on the dirt Bunda Road, taking the first turn over the railway line from the Kidman Way on the northern side of the village on the way to Hillston.
Merriwagga is a small village of around 100 people about 20km north of Goolgowi, 40km south of Hillston and 70km north of Griffith on the Kidman Way.
