I recently took a trip out to Millmerran (to visit family) and finally got to play this course, which Iíve wanted to for a while.
Itís a 9-hole course, which when played from different tees, plays as an 18-hole. (I only had time to play nine though). Even during one of the driest periods in history, thanks to a creek and local grey-water, the Fairways are wonderfully green and all the greens are in wonderful shape. In fact, this courseís fairways are better than some of the Brisbane courseís Iíve played.
Thereís a little bit of water around the course, with the creek crossing two holes, the 9th and 4th, and lingers at the back of the 7th. There a small dam on the right of the 7th, which I also managed to find. The course has its challenges, with the 6th (par 5) dogleg to the right, requiring a good straight drive off the tee, otherwise if you come up short, youíll be forced to use a shorter iron to get around the dogleg.
I really enjoyed this course, the club staff and locals are very friendly (as youíd expect in any country town); so stay for a couple of beers afterwards.
