The Moorings Resort is still open and operational, however, its golf course consisting of all par 3s is CLOSED.

Golfers play at Oaks Ranch and Country Club where the turnoff (into Estuary Road) from The Moorings Resort is less than 500m south.

The Oaks Ranch and Country Club measures 2138m Par 34 with three par 3s ranging from 112-165m, five short par 4s ranging from 249-301m and the 362m Par5-5th. The resort is privately owned but the course is open to the public.

Course has 9 tiny couch grass greens on a paddock-style layout with a scattering of tree-lined fairways. The fairways and tee mounds are mostly natural grass with patches kikuyu grass. There are 8 bunkers on the course. There are 3 small ponds on the course.

1st-165m tiny green with 2 greenside bunkers and OOB fence along the entire leftside.

2nd-262m slight bend to the left to a green with 3 bunkers and OOB fence along the entire leftside.

3rd-112m slightly downhill teeshot to another tiny bunkerless green.

4th-254m straight hole to a 10m wide by 5m long green guarded short by 2 bunkers.

5th-362m is the longest hole on the course and is a very short Par 5 which doglegs 45 degrees to the right from 200m off the tee to another bunkerless green.

6th-301m doglegs 60 degrees to the left from 150m off the tee and plays gently downhill to a 10m wide green with a fairway bunker 50m short right.

7th-292m with a slight dogleg right teeshot required over 2 side-by-side ponds slightly uphill to the bunkerless green.

8th-141m slightly downhill teeshot to the largest green on the course with water over the back.

9th-249m is a straight hole with a teeshot of at least 130m required over another pond which then plays gently uphill to another bunkerless green with the OOB fence far left from over the pond.

The course is mostly fun for infrequent golfers. The par 3s are reasonably challenging to most golfers, but the course is run by its owners.

The course is looking to entice members from Moorings golf course and wishes to be officially affiliated with Golf Australia.

The property and style of course is similar to the Goolabri Country Resort near Canberra.

Oaks Ranch course access is from Stony Creek Lane which is 1km off the George Bass Drive turning into Estuary Road and right into Clearwater Terrace about 22km south of Batemans Bay.

Played here 9th April 2012 with $15 green fees for 9 holes. Located in the seaside village of Mossy Point between Broulee and Tomakin about 20 minutes south of Batemans Bay taking either the Princes Hwy/Tomakin Road or along George Bass Drive.

Batemans Bay urban area has around 16000 people which also boasts the 27-hole layout at Catalina Country Club. The seaside villages of Tomakin-Mossy Point-Broulee have around 3000 people.

The Oaks Ranch offers short and long term accommodation and is increasingly popular with wedding/conference functions.
