Measures 2671m Par 35 with three par 3s ranging from 122-165m, four par 4s ranging from 309-369m and two par 5s ranging from 441-482m. The tree-lined course is fairly well-maintained with smooth well-paced grass greens, fairways are mostly green with minimal bare patches and four sand bunkers with decent sand coverage. All front/back nine tees are located on the same teebed. The greens here have roll-off areas with quite steep banks on the greens which makes it a little difficult to hit these small greens.

Interesting holes include: the tree-lined 482m 2nd/11th which double doglegs right then left with trees down the rightside to a bunkerless green, the 317m 4th/13th which doglegs 90 degrees right from 210m off the tee to a bunkerless green, the 320m 8th/17th slightly doglegs left with OOB fence along the left to a green protected by a shortside right bunker, the 122m 9th/18th has 2 trees obscuring the view of the bunkerless tiered green which slopes to the front with a steep bank on the green that rolls balls over the back.

Played here 21/11/2010 with $15 green fees located about 30 minutes north of Warrnambool along the Hopkins Hwy (B120) near the junction with the Hamilton Hwy (B140). For a town of around 1000 people it has a fairly challenging well-maintained course with a little variety of holes.

Mortlake is a tricky course located about 40 minutes past Colac. The course presents plenty of doglegs and blindshots that will keep the average golfer on their toes. The first par 5 is a particuarly tough hole with a double dogleg. Their are more than a few par four where an iron off the tee will be a much smarter play then just reaching for the big dog.

The last two holes finish the round with a suprise, the greens being very steep as if elephants where buried underneath.
Condition can let this great course down but all in all a very good track.
