Played Morwell last Sunday. Didn’t play in the comp so I can’t make any great comment about the members but the ones I did see were more than friendly. Although I was dissapointed to find the proshop not open on the Sunday morning, but instead what must have been a bloke that lived on or near the course rocking up in a golf cart each time a group turned up to hit off. I wanted to buy some new balls but he wasn’t opening up the shop for love nor money. They have a Sunday comp but if you want to play in that make sure you bring a mate with a H/C so you can mark each others cards otherwise you won’t be teed up with a local for that purpose.

Course has an interesting layout. With most of the par 4 being long enough or having a tricky little dog leg or tight driving zone to aim for.

Both fairways and greens were in great nick for the time of year. While the rough was patchy, thick in some places, non existent in others. That said, if you hit it in the rough you get what you deserve.

While you could play better course closer to Melbourne if your in the area and have time for a game I certainly wouldn’t stop you. I’m yet to play Moe, Yallourn or Traralgon though and they may be better value.

• Good fairways and greens.
• $20 Green Fees. Apparently just the $8 comp fee if you play in the comp
• Interesting but not to challenging layout

• Proshop Shut on Sundays
