This is a good one, it just got the latest watering system installed too so look out next summer. Friendly staff, quality course, always a pleasure to play here. Good mix of long and short holes, only 3 bunkers but raised greens make up for that. Good fairways and greens. Worth a round or two.

I am a member and, obviously, biased but... what a delight if you want a challenge. Hit the ball straight or spend a lot of time manufacturing little recovery shots that eat up your score card. Not a long course, but enough length to challenge everyone. The drought has been hard on the course, but the greens staff do a wonderful job keeping it in very good condition. Tight tree-lined fairways makes your round a true test. Small greens demand accurate iron shots. Raised greens ensure many difficult chips and pitches before you think you can relax. But, true, quick greens with subtle borrows ensure that when you eventually reach the green there are still challenges to conquer. Well worth a visit... or two!

Nice layout with a mixture of short and long, narrow, straight and doglegging par 4's, and some par 3's ranging from the slightly downhill 17th 120m to the flat 4th 200m. A tree lined course with several tight fairways.
The greens run fast and true due to regular rolling. Greens are surrounded by thick kikuyu rough which tends to 'catch' clubheads. fairways are fully watered and always in great condition with rarely a bad lie.
A dry creek bed runs through the course is a feature of many holes throughout the round. Both 10 and 16 require a tee shot over the creek and to the left side of the fairway. Anything right on these holes and you are making things difficult to reach the green in two, especially on 16. 17 is a nice short down hill par 3 with the creek bed running across the front of the green.
Lots of nice holes and a real challenge for golfers of all standards. Well worth having a game.

Played Mudgee two days ago and with all the recent rains it is lush and green and spongy in parts so when your ball lands it stops abruptly. It’s a picturesque course of average challenge and it is well worth visiting for a round. I was disappointed that about six temporary greens were being used with the usual greens under repair. I know that maintenance is required, but how about doing a couple of greens at a time.
There are no bunkers and no water hazards to speak of, although the creek through the middle of the course which doesn’t look like it usually flows was running well due to the rains. It isn’t a long course and while most of the fairways are wide and open a few are quiet tight off the tee, so you need to be straight. My pick of the holes was 16.
