The little stone cottage is known to locals as "The Shephers Hut". The hut was restored and opened as the Padthaway Golf Club House in 1988.

The course adjoins the Padthaway Conservation Park and is characterised by the tall gums and scrubs which line the fairways here. The course closes from the end of September and is not maintained til Autmumn where the locals use the course as sheep grazing lands.

Padthaway is a small village of around 250 people with the Estate surrounding the 1882 Victorian Homestead. Some nice attractions in the small village, but the course offers basic golf facilities. Fees are $5
