Parramatta golf course is a good public course with some challenging holes. There are 4 par 4’s, ranging from 258m-336m, 5 par 3’s ranging from 97m-182m.
Small greens will test out your short game, elevated greens make it easy to go over the back or sides. The greens are slow and could use some improvement, they are a touch bumpy but by no means difficult.
The tees aren’t in great condition due to the amount of use and lack of maintenance, however there are some tees with a good grass covering.
The fairways are hard, brown and fast at the moment due to the heat but in winter the course is uite green with fairways fairly lush and an even grass covering. Preferred lies of 15cm are greatly helpful when in a bad lie.

There is a small practice putting green with about 6 holes, however it is built on a slope meaning there isn’t a chance to practice hitting straight, level putts, they are always ether uphill, downhill or have break.

The Pro shop is well stocked with plenty of clubs, balls, apparel and practice aids. Titleist clubs are in stock as well as Cleveland wedges.

Parramatta is by no means a extremely tough or long course but it will test out your game, accuracy is important and definitely a great course for beginners and juniors. Green fees are quite cheap but membership is overpriced.

If you haven’t been to Parra for a while do yourself sa favour and try again. The course is now looked after by an outsourced management company and has improved in leaps and bounds.

The fairways are now defined, the green surrounds are well manicured and the greens have improved out of sight.

As a public track it still has some rough patches and the tees are a bit ordinary, but as a cheap alternative it’s not the worst around.

Good for social groups and great for beginners. Take the kids there and let them try golf in a relaxed atmosphere.

Rough little course with a couple of things I hate including long club snagging kikiyu around a lot of greens, crossover holes, muddy in the wet alternating with hard in the dry, hitting over a road, and parramatta grass ( fair enough it is Paramatta)

Apparently the course is part of Parramatta park and this limits the clubhouse from modernising and allows the public to wander freely on and about.

Its a public course, pretty cheap, accessible in a high density area and learners will be happy there. There is a big place for this sort of course in the world of golf. If there were more of these courses golf would be better off. GO THE EELS

If you value your clubs DONT PLAY HERE!!
Played there on monday and the Tees were sparsely grassed, bare patches and uneven, where there was grass it wasnt cut. The fairways well my partner nealy snapped her club let alone near broke her wrist when she hit a huge rock that grass had covered as well as having tuffs of Parra grass in the fwys.
The greens OMG slow, bumpy and weed infested, it seriously was like watching a ball in a pinball machine in slow mo they were that bad.
They wont be getting my money again!

This track’s OK…there are better 9 holers in Sydney, but there are worse. Greens are a bit frustrating with loose strands of kikuyu growing through what I would presume is couch. Some of the tee boxes were in poor condition – dusty with little grass cover – and the 5th tee is artificial grass, albeit not akin to driving range mats.

On the upside, nice bunkering gives some variety and leads to somewhat challenging approach shots, and I quite liked the 6th (270ish downhill dogleg left where the green can be driven) and 7th (280 back up the hill dogleg right).

Reasonable value for a practise round and alternative to hitting balls at a driving range, but as was mentioned above, it does seem more suited for social groups and beginners.

Played there on Friday and the greens were terrible. Had that much weed in them that the ball was hopping along the green, wont be back there in a hurry

Bearing in mind that this is a public course, the condition is not too bad. The greens were a bit bumpy and the grass could have used a trim. The real downfall of the course is the distance. Far too short to keep you entertained on a long term basis. Also the appearence of the occasional person taking a walk across the fairways is a bit of putting.

Well what a surprise course – only short but presents very well with all the recent rain. Greens are great and the 3’s are very challenging and even an “A” grader can easily come unstuck. Great course for fine tuning the irons. Sure it may have its limitations in distance but some previous comments i’ve read i’m sure have been made by players expecting sub par rounds on what they’ve assessed as a pushover course – not the case. I also found the new Pro shop staff very friendly, courteous and professional with clubhouse staff too willing to make youn feel at home. Great inexpensive food at the bistro, very impressed and can highly recommend. Definitely will be back. A very friendly little club.

On the 3rd hole the OP is all the way down the left, not right

A good little members course in the heart of Parramatta. Not overly challenging from the social tees, but from the plates there are 3 (6 for 18 holes) par 3’s of over 180 metres. The signature hole is number 3, a 185mtr par 3 with OB all along the right, and a water carry of 150mtr from the plates in front, with the water carry getting longer the further right you go. The short par 4 4th is driveable but again has OB all along the left. The only real let down is the overhanging wires on the short par 3 5th, which invariably only ever catch good shots. For a short course it is a very strategic layout, challenging for new players but easily negotiated with sound course management. The condition of the course is at the mercy of the weather, but at the moment it is in great condition from all the summer rain with plenty of grass on the fairways. The greens are small and fairly flat, and can run well at times but not at their best at the moment. The old problems of the pro shop have been rectified with Steve’s House of Golf moving in and turning it into a real pro shop. All up it’s not the greatest course in the world but a pleasant way to spend a Saturday morning in the local comp, which is always open to visitors.

This is a council owned golf course accessible to the public.

At the moment the greens are in great shape and the recent rains have ensured good fairway cover.

A new pro has revamped the shop and the club is being renovated.

Great for social groups or beginners and a fair test of golf for everyone.

I played on what the course calls “Mad Monday”, this meant for $10 you could play as many rounds as you could get in. I thought how good is this, until I got to the first tee. Both the tees and greens had more sand than grass on them, it toke me about 5 mintues to actually find the greens as well. I am not joking.

We ended up playing preferred lies on the fairways for every single shot. After 4 holes I got in my car and drove home. This is by far the worst course I have ever seen or played. I will never go back there again.

Stay as far away from it as you can.

Played here yesterday from the back, and it measured 1931m Par 31 with 5 Par 3s measures 100-180m and FOUR Par 4s ranging from 260-335m. This course is in poor condition. Greens are flat, small, slow, bumpy and elevated! The fairways are non-existent to dead. I saw only patches of ëgreení on the entire course. Teebeds are poor, with more dirt patches than grass cover. The 5th hole hitting over the roadway to the clubhouse is a joke. The synthetic tee for starters, but the lack of protection for motorists is a worry. The entire course is still poorly marked, with no map or signs to the next tee.

The longest hole is 335m 1st hole, with a creek cutting across and dividing the green and the fairway with the green about 30m from the creek. Probably a better challenge, but I prefer the 185m 3rd hole. This par 3 has the same creek to hit over but you must hit about 120m from the back tee to clear the creek.

Small average clubhouse that overlooks the 7th green. Weekday green fees are $10 for 9 holes and $12 for weekend 9 holes.

I went there because its close to home but I'am never going back. The pro shop is a little shack and the was being looked after by a 16-18 year girl who looked like she was going to a Eminem concert.

There is no map of the course, the holes are not marked and not easy to follow. I had to make sure I did'nt lose touch of the members in front if me. The tee for the 4th (I think) is artificial grass with Park parade literally 5 metres to your left and you have to hit over the driveway entry to the course! Had people walking or jogging through the course just about every hole. Not that cheap considering what you get.

The only positive that it was quite chalenging with its water traps, uphill and downhill fairways and difficult greens.

Generally don't bother.

Parramatta is definitely a short course and good for practising your short game - while the fairways are relatively open and not many trees or bushes, if you're not on your short game then your score will suffer... The course is surrounded by a busy stretch of road and any wayward tee shots will see those balls heading out of the course... Worth a quick game and pretty cheap as well!

A 9 hole course with hardly a flat piece of ground to be found. Most of the time you are faced with an uphill or downhill lie, often above or below the feet. This makes it more difficult to pull off good shots consistently for the average player. Fairways are often bare in places, though preferred lies are usually allowed where marked. Such a short and busy course is obviously difficult to keep in good condition. 5th hole (103m par3) hits over the driveway entrance to the clubhouse, with cables overhead. 2nd and 3rd holes (both par 3's) cross over one another (+). Best hole is probably the 3rd (185m) hitting over water to a forward sloping green.

Attempt if you like challenging lies.

A good challenge for the average golfer. Well laid out course with a large creek on the 1st hole to get over. A short par 3 on the 2nd, and it's back over that creek for the 3rd (A wayward short here will hit the green keeper house!). The 4th present a couple of bunkers. The 5th is a short par 3 (90 mtrs) across the access road with bunker in front and a garden behind the green. The 6th is a slight dog leg to the left, and the first real chance to use the driver, but look out for the bunkers and if you over shoot the green you'll probably loose your ball in the long grass. The 7th is a dog leg to the right, and another good driving fairway. On the 8th par 3 it is a slight uphill short tee shot. The 9th hole is another short par 3. Overall the greens are relatively small, but are well suited to this tight course.
