Good well maintained course close to the city. Very tight course in places which makes it a real test. Greens are fast and provided me with a real test. If playing on a sunday I would advise that you check that the course is open as they seem to have alot of groups book the course out. why clubs do this is beyond me – members who can only play on sunday must be upset every time this happens.

For a course in the ’burbs behind a zinc foundry, it’s pretty good. It has had a name change to ’New Town Bay Golf Club’, which sounds a lot more attractive than a brand of zinc. Only par 3’s and 4’s on this course, but they’re a tricky bunch of holes.
Excellent views to go with it, looking straight down the Derwent.
