First time on the course and enjoyed the day out. Although it still appears to be a bit imature, the course still has its challenges and makes you think your way through it. The fairways and greens were in very good condition, although a the two bunkers i was in were pretty solid under foot. May be due to the recent rain. Not up there with the surrounding bayside/sand belt courses but holds in own in the Tier 2 category.

I’ve played here a few times as a visitor so I can comment from an impartial (e.g. non-member) view.

Fairways – nice and green although plenty of unrepaired divots. Very flat and you would be very unlucky to get a sloped stance.
Greens – the day I played the greens hadn’t been cut for a while. The member I was playing with said that they had recently cored and were just about to cut. So this explains why the greens were incredibly slow and there were footprints everywhere. More luck than skill.
Layout – most holes are standard however some do make you think with strategic bunkering and water placement. It’s not a matter of stepping up with a driver and bombing it on the par 4’s and 5’s – some do require you to shape the shot or use a hybrid off the tee. The par 3’s are probably the best aspect of the course with plenty of water and bunkers to punish anyone who doesn’t get it on the dancefloor. And whose-ever idea it was to put molehills down the sides of the first fairway needs to have their head examined.
Overall – good when compared with other public courses, average at best when compared with all courses in Melbourne. Reasonable conditioning and challenge for those looking for a casual game of golf.

Played there on Monday last week and was very impressed by the new design. I played on my own and was called through by 2 friendly groups (thanks guys), so got round in about 4 hours. A challenging but fair course. Most of the trouble is clearly visible, so no excuses! Many good holes, but in particular the stretch from 14 thru 17 is as good as any course in Melbourne. The 15th hole is an absolute classic. I bought a card of 10 green-fee vouchers, so I’ll be back regularly.

Great experience.
Played last Monday afternoon. A reasonable length course with short par 4s and challenging par 3s. Played as a pair and completed the round in just over three hours.
Course in good condition however some fairways were a bit firm and bunkers needing fresh sand (a bit hard ).

I played here on a Sunday with a friend. The front nine was one of the slowest I have ever played. There were people everywhere, suggesting that the pro shop had greedily/foolishly overbooked the course. It was funny, my friend overheard a player saying that the course was a hidden gem, yeah a hidden gem that the hundreds of people on the course had heard about.

The course itself was well maintained, but it was flat and the layout was fairly stock standard. It was a typical good public course, nothing more nothing less.

Once we finished the painfully slow front nine we stopped for a bite to eat. To our horror, the sausage rolls had been microwaved and were a soggy mess. This was almost the straw that broke the camels back. We were one step away from throwing the rubbery sausage rolls at the pro shop, jumping in our car and going home. But we decided to persevere.

Luckily, we got a decent run on the back nine. The course seemed to open up as well and had a lot more character than the monotonous drain of the front nine. There were some memorable, well bunkered par 3’s, as well as some quality longer holes. The trees came into play a bit more which added to the challenge. The par 5 18th set up nicely and was a great finishing hole. The back nine was a significant improvement on the front nine.

Slow play aside, this is a well maintained public course, however no way is it in the same league as genuine five/four star courses like The Dunes, 13th Beach – Beach Course and Eynesbury. It reminded me of Kingston Links, but it was in better condition due to increased water supply. Although, overall Kingston Links has a better layout.

Great course in pristine condition that is currently offering 12 rounds for $240 which is less than half price ! Fairways are perfect and free of divots and every hole has well placed hazards to make you think off the tee. Water in play on most of th front 9 and back nine opens up a little bit more. Par 5 18th a good finishing hole with water along the right for your second shot to a green protected by deep bunkers front and right with water at the rear. would highly recommend a hit. Pro shop staff very helpful.

Wonderful course that has been very well maintained with own water supply when other courses have suffered. Strikes that fine balance between being accessible for beginners and a challenge for low handicappers. Great practice facilities and clubhouse for after the game.

This course has been completely renewed over the past 5 years. It is a challenging course with plenty of lakes and bunkers. Final polishing of the course is now taking place and will only get better with time and good greenkeeping. The clubhouse has been renovated with a modern and fresh appeal. A pleasure to play on, a local course not to be missed,
