Played this course yesterday 20/1/13, the course is very dry and fairway in dying condition. Some hilly holes which almost impossible to put the ball on fairway despite hitting good tee shot. Generally lacks maintenance and the recent dry weather makes it worse. Paid $25, but only played 9 holes, left early as I don’t want to be disappointed further.

Good challenging option for those on the north side of Brissy and good value for money. Played yesterday and the greens were being redone which meant they were rough and sandy.

Played this course on Show Day Public Holiday $20 green fees very reasonable, course was dry and fairly hilly had some nice holes especially on the back nine, greens were quick. Overall pleasant day need to keep your wits about though few "fore"s wouldn’t go astray!

the ladies you refer to were visitors and not Local members as the Pine ladies dont play at their home club, probably Indro, McCleod or Wanny clubs

Played 10/08/2012 off the social tees. Walked the 18 in 2 hrs 45 mins. Wouldn’t recommend walking for the unfit or old timers unless you lumber along. Very hilly course but was in ok shape. Fairways, as they always have been, are very firm and unless you have a very high trajectory shot, you almost have to play this course like a links course. Course off the social tees is very short but it was quite windy so that made it challenging enough. The only gripe I had was that it was ladies pennants day (or something like that). I booked my tee time at 6.55am to ensure I finished before they started. When I walked to the 10th, two ladies looked at me, walked down to the green and proceded to chip and putt onto the green. I gave out a yell that I was about to play and they moved to the side of the green. Once my shot was on the green, they went back to chipping and putting and didn’t stop the whole time I was on the green. These ’ladies’ obviously feel they own the place and for a couple of wrinkled and lumpy old bags, had a misplaced superiority complex.

Great local course with a layout that tests your skill and your mind. Situated in serene surroundings and at a very reasonable price you have to go a long way to find the value for money that Pine Rivers provides.

Played on the 26.12.11 course was in pretty good nick. Just needing a mow in some areas but this was obvioulsy due to some of the green staff being on their Xmas holidays. Best value in Brissy but $20 for a game with a cart.

Pine Rivers is a bit of a goat track (all hills) but the course was in very good condition and could not fault the greens (they were in excellent condition). It wasn’t that busy and as there was only 2 of us a few groups let us play through and we went round in 3hrs 10mins.
A very enjoyable experience and will definitely be going back.

I think its really good golf course especially green. It is a course where u need to have a driver and a good driver because there is some painful par 5’s but the par 4’s and 3’s are hard as well.

@philperkins, wow,you get a FREE game of golf and the only reason you recommend others to come here is to hit your 4 iron 300 metres? From the back of the 2nd tee to the dam water is 220 metres approx. Hope you dont quote prices for a living otherwise you would be broke.

Course has changed from last played a few months ago. Most fairways are in pretty good nick and the greens were the best seen for some time.

there has been a good month without rain so some areas are a little bare but overall fairly good. Staff were on the course changing sprinklers and laying some coverage over the worst areas of the course.

dams etc are pretty low so plenty of water is being put on the course. greens were dark green with a good coverage of grass. seemed to play pretty true with sometimes a small break around the holes.

played with guys all high handicaps and came away breaking 100.

played the course in a cart good value. course has now new 150 and 100 mt markers. enjoyed by the 3 of us.

Played this goat track Friday 11/11/11. Arrived after 4 and thankfully the pro just said go ahead and charged me $0. Should have got the cart as it was about 30 degrees and some of those hills are a killer. The course is exceptionally dry and in very poor condition. The ground is extremely dry and in many places rough with gravel and rocks. Most lies are on an angle if you can keep you ball on the "fairway". They seriously need to get some grass on this place. There seems to be plenty of water in the dams.
You better come dressed in you best helmet, shoulder pads and shin guards. This course is downright dangerous ! Seriously the 6th and third tees are a real eye opener. The 6th is directly in front of the third tee and you hit off in the same direction. There is a small rusty sign in the middle of what appears to be one big fairway indicating the direction you should hit. So if you are on the 6th look out for the guys hitting off from the 3rd. They are elevated and most players have the common sense or courtesy to wait until others have finished. Some don’t.
Also, I hit a nice tee shot (4 iron) on the 2nd and watched it go strait down the fairway and bounced over the top of the hill. The ball ran a further 150 metres into the dam. 300 metre plus 4 iron Whoohoo ! My mates will never believe me ! All 100% true. Try it for this experience alone but none else.

As of 1 Nov 20011:Overall good value for money with a buggy and unlimited golf. The course is very indulating,so the buggy is required .It is a country course,so city slikers will find the undulations awkward however for the big hitters ,I imagine you would murder the course due to the fact that once you get over the ridges ,your ball will roll for ever.I found the greens quite ok and read true.

played here 29.8.11 in the Pro-am. The course was very well presented considering the rainfall over the weekend. The greens were a good speed not too fast for us amateurs. Preferred lie was on and only used it twice all the way around. 38 points best score for a long time. Compliments to the organisation. I play off 21. Feedback from the pros was very positive. Back next year if i can get time off work.

This is my most local course. Originally, I had booked a round at Caboolture GC for the day (Monday 22/8/11). Caboolture GC pro-shop had the good manners to call me 4 days prior to inform me that their back 9 would be closed due to local road-bridge works taking place. I decided to cancel and immediately booked Pine Rivers instead. We arrived for our game at Pine Rivers, to be told the back 9 were closed, being used all morning for school children…..UNBELIEVABLE !!…. Considering the back 9 are the only redeeming factor for this course ! If Caboolture had the grace to inform us, why couldn’t Pine Rivers? They actually told us that they knew when they took our booking !!! Considering this and the reason for the closure, it left a very bad feeling towards the staff. Then being asked to keep the cart along the tree line because there is a pro-am comp next week, just about took the biscuit. Considering…..You would need a bloody military grade hum-vee golf cart to actually manage that feat !!
The course remains to be of very poor quality, the worst in Brisbane in my humble opinion. Fairways on the front 9 are disgusting, Tee boxes poor being badly cut up and not level, (never seen the 8th tee open in 3 years, always a temporary tee on the hole-side of the water). Greens lack imagination, no undulation and all slope back to their fairway, with not enough grass to even hold the ball from rolling back off towards you.
As said before, the back 9 are the redeeming part of this course and having to play the front 9 twice, just about made my mind up that I would choose anywhere else to play in Brisbane before returning to Pine Rivers.

Hilly springs to mind, but that is good! The challange of fast greens add to the skill level, with a hard to read surface. The social tees are a bit too far forward with reasonable hitters able to make the water from the tee, which takes away the holes design.

Played tuesday morning. Course in fair condition. Still a bit thick on some fairways and several large GUR patches being reconditioned, or just rocky/dusty.
Still, challenging course with lots of slopes and hills, elevated and fast greens, strategic water and sand placement.
Watch out for the cranky ladies tuesday mornings

PROS

  • challenging course

Cons

  • fast greens
  • in need of repair some places

We played on monday 11th of juli.20 dollars each including cart.
This course is very hilly so we loved it because we are no long hitters but with all the hills it went further. Some rude people behind us who asked us where we were coming from like he owned the place. We let them through and they did not even thank or say anything. But we enjoyed our day anyway. We are not very good players so this is a good course for beginners challenging but a lot of fun.Friendly staff in clubhouse and pro shop.

Green are fast and challenging. Fairways generally harden up as ground dries and ground cover a bit patchy. Quite a few ’blind tees’ where you can’t see the greens for me meant driving shorter and safer rather than hitting into the unknown.

The course was in good shape, with the fairways well grassed and the greens in wonderful condition. New players to the course will need to be careful of sloping fairways and unsighted greens and waterways. There are a number of undulations throughout the 18 holes, so use of a motorized cart is a good tip. Friendly pro shop and club staff made the whole experience very positive. A good value for money round of golf.

Played at Pine Rivers on 08/06/11

As people have already stated the fairways are pretty bare and need a bit of work as do the paths for the motorised carts. The greens are deceptively quick. Good variety of holes though and the people there are nice. All in all i’d give it 3.5 out of 5. I’ve played on better courses and i’ve played on worse courses but for the price ($25 for 18 holes plus cart) it was well worth it and i will definitely be back :)

PROS

  • Good price
  • Good variety of holes
  • Quiet and peaceful

Cons

  • Fairways quite bare
  • Paths are mostly dirt

Tricky course in fair condition. I would suggest taking a cart as there a a few steep climbs. While the course is not long it is very much a thinking course where you can’t just blast driver off every tee.

The greens were not in the best shape.

They need to do a better job of directing which fairway you should hit down on some holes! We asked a few of the local players and we certainly were not the first group to do that.

Staff were friendly.

Overall I thought the course was OK, however coming from the city is a bit of a drive and I don’t think the course is worth the drive again.

Very fast small greens ,tight fairways with good up & down & side slops making a real challenge.
Hiring of a motor cart was the right idea.
Even after all the rain we have had parts of the course are still very hard and dry.
Carts tracks need a lot of repairs.
The staff was very friendly

Played early thursday morning; Great course for the price. Enough long holes to encourage the drive and a couple of drivable par 4’s. Some fairways punish good shots with severe slopes and it was a bit boggy in parts.
Greens very quick and unfortunately were in the process of being sprayed, so slick as well – very hard to stop a ball on the green.
Definitely need a cart as is quite hilly/sloped

PROS

Cons

  • hilly (hard to walk)

average course at best. hilly like a goat track and poor marker signage as is the case with many golf clubs around. price very decent but if your looking for a quality game on a course in good nick stay away from here. signage on tees was appalling as was tee box markers.the highlight of the round was my 2 birdies in a row on holes 11/12. greens very true and had slick pace to them but some strange and unusual pin placements left me a bit bewildered. probably will stick away from this place. ball washers almost non existent as well. and i would say a course u probably really need to know to do any good around as quite a few blind shots off tees.

Please understand that each golf course is designed and constructed in its own micro environment and within budgetry constraints. 2 years ago this club was in danger of closing. With the assistance of a then, non golfing investor , they have turned the place around and have invested money out of their own pocket to ensure the community have a place to go and relax and wind down after their weekly grind.

Yes there are better fairways and defined rough at other clubs, however Pine Rivers character is unique as is each of all the other golf clubs world wide. Pine Rivers is always looking at ways to improve the playing conditions and surrounds as it does cost a lot of money to upgrade , repair and rebuild cartpaths, tees, fairways etc at a golf club.

Pine Rivers was built from the hard work and dedication of our founding members to enjoy a game of golf and to develop friendship amongst new and existing members. Things dont always go to plan for one reason or another so we as golfers need to roll with the flow and just relax and enjoy whatever surfaces you are given.

Defined fairways will not make you play any better and rough is exactly that, rough Our team are dedicated just as much as our founding members to provide the best they can for the benefit of the community as a whole.

On closing it would be fantastic to have everything as pure as Augusta, but remember it all comes at a cost and that cost my dear comrades is passed on to you the consumer as it is in any business.

Stay positive , keep your eye on the ball and play well

Weve played here a heap of times before, and infact learnt how to swing a club at the course. Whilst there have been improvements over the years, the course is still a "Goat track". Serious need of some pathway mainentance, with the motorised carts really needing 4wd even on the fairways. Bumps you expect, but when your bags all but fall off after a drive down the fairway….
We arrived in time for a putt and our then tee time, I handed in our Iseekgolf voucher, only to be told that there wasnt carts for our 4 to start. We had to wait for the group playing the 18th to finish??? Well a 1.06pm tee time would have left enough time to complete before dusk, a 1.30pm tee time left us driving into the set sun, and chipping in the dark, putting by braille!
Look, $25 a round, including carts is fantastic value, so if you want a hit, its worth a go, just dont expect manicured fairways, or defined rough.
For an extra couple of minutes, and a few more dollars, Beerwah is a far better course.

61. Looknohands | Rated | 10 May 2010 | Add A Review

Great staff at pro shop and in the clubhouse. But while the ground staff and committees over the years have probably done everything they could to make this a decent course, it will never be anythng more than a second or third rate course. The front nine is just awful. The ground there (fairways and rough) is always rock hard and there are some truely silly holes (the 1st, 7th and 9th are all drivable par 4s). The back nine is far better with some well laid out holes but most still have those concrete like fairways, a few very short par 4s and short par 5 (driver and 8 iron). $35 for a round here (including buggy) was an OK deal, but considering the quality of the course, i’d have rather paid twice that for a Premier Players round at North Lakes.

In summary….i’d rather hack both my legs off with a blunt spoon than ever play at Pine Rivers again.

Played here on Sunday 28th March. Decided to play here as it was close and reasonably cheap. Cost around $40 with a kart. Few interesting holes although the grounds were in pretty average condition. The ground was that hard we couldn’t get the tee in on a few of the holes. As a beginner in golf I can understand that neighbouring golfers will sometimes hit accidently onto your fairway but to pinch your ball at the same time is poor.

PROS

  • Interesting holes

Cons

  • Keep an eye on your golf balls
  • Rock hard ground

Played Wed 10/03/10 for $10 walking. Bloody hot that day and as it was 1st time there soon found out just how hilly it is!

ok so Fairways aren’t in top shape but given the rain lately you are normally hitting off some decent grass. Greens were ok- a little slow.

I usually play flatter courses and really enjoyed the elevated tee offs over dams etc. It was pretty quiet and quick though mind you I did see a group of 6 old me putting on one green- I can’t see why they let groups of 6 go round…

One par 3 is 195m which is the longest par 3 I’ve played.

Clubhouse looked tempting but I didn’t indulge

Man- for the 10 dollars I paid I can’t complain. Too many whingers out there I say!

Not great condition, slightly better than Sandgate but not by a lot. At least 8 of the 18 holes are in terrible shape. Best part is the near drivable par 4s. 2 of them were good for par. the second hole is bs as the punish a long driving player mine found the water. Was ok.. Hilly up and down. I prefer a straighter course.

PROS

  • Different, Short Par 4s

Cons

  • Condition on holes. The 2nd and 10th are a joke.
  • Navigation of course unclear. too many fairways lined up too close
65. RUBES | Rated | 21 Jan 2010 | Add A Review

I have played this course quite a few times as I live locally. The course I find is very weather dependant as the fairways dry up considerably through dry spells. It is quite challenging with the slopes and angles of the fairways making you think about your next shot, rather than attacking every hole with gusto. Fairway grass leaves something to be desired, with long seed stems and inconsistent length. Worth a round if the price is right.

PROS

  • Challenging

Cons

  • Poor Fairways
66. Rampage82 | Rated | 13 Jan 2010 | Add A Review

Greens where good, the front 9 where quick but the back 9 where slower.

The Fairways are no different then the rough.

Wasn’t very happy the there was 3 groups in front of us (pair) a group of 6 then a group of 5 and then another group of 6, even if they all only played 9 holes it made the 1st 9holes very very slow, they let us play though after 7 holes.

Anyway greens are good, and course is fun. Wouldn’t play there if you had a low handicap as some holes are par 4 and around 270m

Have played Pine Rivers before and found it far to arid and was looking forward to playing now that there had been a little rain around. Unfortunately we had a group of 6 tee off in front of us and then two groups ahead a group of 5 – we gave up after just under 4 hours with only 12 holes played. We were looking at a 6 hr day and enough was enough. The first is right in front of the pro shop so they must have been aware. If this club is trying to attract players and members this sort of course management definitely will not help – very dissapointed. To top it all off my egg and lettuce sandwhich was off! On a positve note the greens have had a lot of work done on them and they are very nice to play on.

very dry with very little grass on fairways and generally the course is poorly maintained

Played there twice recently, once when the greens had just been cored and sanded and once a fortnight later when they were still suffering from the effect. It is difficult to enjoy a game when the conditions make putting virtually impossible.

Equally, for our novice round, there is no indication on the hole map of how close the water is over the hill (and out of sight)on the second hole; this is a trap for those new to the course.

Other than that, it is a course for motorised carts as it is very hilly and you need to be careful on some of the dual tees if you are hitting off the social tees as others may be hitting off, on a different hole, right above you.

The staff in the pro shop are very helpful, the carts are efficient and the coffee shop is an excellent and welcome innovation. Costs through iseek are very reasonable.

I’d play there again but only after some rain as the course is very dry and after the greens return to a normal state.

Pine Rivers golf course has not changed much since I played there 10 years ago.Still a challenge, bit disappointed in the greens very lumpy and covered in sand. But over all great morning and good to catch up with friends.

played the course on the 20/09/09. it was a sunday afternoon so it was $32.50 each for 18 holes and a motorized cart. for a sunday the course was not that busy. the tees where pretty good. the fairways where very dry and if you land the ball in the right spot you can get some serious roll off the tee’s. the greens where very sandy and cored and ready for some serious work. putts where not easy to read so it was more like hit and hope. ill be going back but not for a month or so when the greens are fixed up

PROS

  • good roll if you hit the ball in the right spots off the tee
  • friendly service
  • almost zero waiting time
  • very nice clubhouse
  • rough and trees a good challenge

Cons

  • very sandy and cored greens
  • most of the motorised cart batteries where flat and needed a charge

Played 18/9/09 – greens just been sanded which would have been nice to know. Interesting course with a number of unseen hazards which can get you in trouble! The ground is hard so can get some big bounces or kicks – not always favourable. You get some noise from Lakeside Raceway next door too (race weekend). Overall the course is probably a little rough and needs a bit extra care but OK.

Fantastic value for money at $25 including cart. The course was in pretty good condition, and there were some interesting holes. The greens were very fast.

Simple Really, Don’t Go. There were groups of six, idiots hitting on the greens while your trying to putt, no orginisation on this course at all, & two other things i won’t bother to mention.

i played there today 13/08/09 and i found the experience great. i last played there over 13yrs ago and the layout has not changed in this time. the fairways where good but hard underneath so a good drive was all that was needed on most holes. the greens where in good condition, but pretty quick and deceptive. i took advantage of the $25 deal for 18 holes and a cart. there is lots of ponds and hidden danger on the course. ill be going back there again

I was not very please when we turned up we were told that there was a mix up because Saturdays were a comp day and we couldn’t play he gave us 9 holes even though we payed for 18 holes with a cart and said to come back tomorrow for 18 holes with a cart we didn’t come back on principle because we were disgusted that a course was run like this.
They also blamed Iseek in saying that they were told to take it off for Saturday comps.

I played Pine Rivers a couple days ago on an iseekgolf tee special. Well worth the money. Course condition has improved heaps with the recent rains. Greens we in excellent condition and few quick.

Played the Pine yesterday, overall the course is ok. A few holes with large GUR, but that is to be expected given the recent rain. As others have commented the greens are quick and firm, rarely left a plug mark. Some of the tee boxes could use some work, but are serviceable

Very few courses can compete with the price, at less than $1 per hole, its pretty good value.

Played Pine Rivers yesterday on one of the I seek Golf specials with a buggy. Course is in great condition except for some washouts on paths from all the recent rain. Fairways were good and greens were incrediably fast but were at least very uniform. Some difficult pin positions made chipping & putting interesting. A very solid course from start to finish and made for an enjoyable round. Will definitley be back.

to, golf4life, i hear that pine are purchasing more carts to cope with the extra demand of social players, so hope to see you out here real soon, its also one of the shortest courses going but in saying that i agree that it feels longer when we keep missing the middle of the fairways and when the sun is beating down from above

Played Pine Rivers using the ISG discount, $35 including cart. Great little country course. Fairways weren’t bad, a bit wet but considering the deluge we’ve had in Brisbane lately, this can be excused. Greens were slick but ran true.

Very friendly members, and Aaron the Pro is a great bloke who was very helpful and accomodating. There is no driving range at Pine Rivers which is a bit of a shame, but that’s the only real reason to fault this club.

Carts were brand new and in pristine condition. The layout is a little confusing, and the two par 5’s are very similar holes, running parallel to each other. Some challenging holes but all in a all a shortish course. I’ll be back.

Really starting to enjoy this course – try to get there once a week and walk arround(great exercise plenty of hills) i am only a beginner and haven’t played a lot of courses, but I am really enjoy this course. Watch out for saturday afternoons as there can be a few juniors on the course and slows down your round a bit – but still worth it if you have a spare few hours.

I used to be a member at Pine Rivers but have left the area. Wow what a change in this course on my most recent trip back. Fantastic greens again
and the fairways are now defined. It is a course if you are a fair dinkum golfer and the walk for me is great exercise.I love the challenge of Pine Rivers and to see it in such good condition was a real treat
The club itself and the Pro shop are under new management and by the looks of it reaping the benefit.

A must play for Golfers with a ticker

What is going on at this golf club, the course is the best it has ever been and apparently they have only started on what the have installed. The members and staff are friendly and they seem to be having a lot of fun events for everyone to come up and enjoy. The chef their makes a great steak! And it’s only $15.

The course is across the road from Dakabin train station so it very easy to get too! We get the midweek special incl a cart.

The course isn’t that long but is a great challenge for a golfer weather your learning or an A grade golfer. The greens roll true and look fantastic best greens in Brisbane and the NOW defined fairways are a perfect cut and are looking great. The rough needs a little bit of work but again the improvement to it is amazing.

The holes are tight but it doesn’t Cost you too much when you put it on another hole you can always seem to get back to your hole or just play up the other one.

I can only sum it up as a REAL golf course it’s not perfect but its got heart. And for $55 a month I’ve joined as a member.

-played this course recently, and overall i guess it was OK
-fairways wernt in too flash of condition, and often your ball was surronder by some weeds, or long stalks, but it was also bearable
-more than anything, I was frustrated by the end, to continually hitting onto greens that could not be seen by the fairway, making it hard to judge shots
- and in saying this, the greens were hard and not receptive, although they were pretty true to putt on
-sometimes hard to navigate around, for example, we played the 16th first instead of the 12th, a common mistake i imagine
-par 5’s proved difficult into the wind
-par 3 10th, dangerous if sitting on the verandah, i dont think anyone does anyway

Overall, it is a tiring course to play due to the steep slopes that injabit the area. I don’t feel I was ripped off by any means, although the course itself was not really up to the condidtion of many other Brisbane courses. The greens were very hard, good to putt on but hard to stick your shot on. A tight course, and a very tiring, course. There were no carts left for us to use, so we had to use. Definetly need to use carts around here. Don’t think ill be coming back, not that it is a terrible course, just because it is a long way around, and would prefer to play better course around Brisbane

I must agree with you sarge, the rain certainly does improve the lie you get at Pine.We cant expect too much for the money they charge for a round. Still the cheapest place to join round North Brisbane.( cant count Woodford in Noth Brissy region,if we did that, we would have to include Qld in the Northern NSW region) HAHA go the blues

Played the front nine here last week and was quite suprised. I normally play a shorter course around the corner and only get to use the driver once so thought i’d give Pine Rivers a go as it’s been a long time since i’d been there.

The fairways weren’t too bad at all (a fair bit of rain over the last 4 or so months)when I was on them I had good lies and when you off them the rough can be a bit rough and bare in places but it’s not all that bad. The greens had been cored but when there fresh again I think they’ll be pretty damn good, i still managed two 1 putts and a chip in.

All up for the money it’s my new stop for 9 holes.

Pine Rivers has improved from my visit 18 months ago.Its obvious the rain has helped green up the fairways and roughand cover some bare spots. The greens were crap and full of weeds when i last played there. Now the greens are running truer and the bumpiness, and most weeds seem to have disappeared from them as well. Theres only 3 blokes who look after the course so im told, so i think they do ok. Its a friendly club to visit and it can only improve with more money spent on it. Give it a go i bet you will be surprised

Played Pine Rivers today, front 9 and had 41 off the stick. I normally cant break 50 so I was stoked. The greens have just been topdressed and were very receptive to approach shots. Although it was hard to define between fairways and rough the fairways were green and mown. The pro (mick i think) in the proshop was friendly and had positive comments to say about the new managment that have taken over the club.

The course looks inviting from the road i take every day on my way to work so i will be taking my mates next time and see if i can break 50 AGAIN. PS check out the chick behind the bar…....

Just played this course this morning after a couple of years and how it seems to be deteriated.

I was playing it about a week after heavy rain and was expecting the fairways and general course condition to have improved from previous reviewers comments.

The fairways are NOT closely mown and it is random chance on what kind of lie you get. It seemed like there isnt much time or care taken to trying to present this course in its best possible shape.

Green fee for 9 holes was $11 and for the experience I would say that is slightly overpriced.

Will come back when I see reviews on here saying course has improved. The course itself could be very good if properly maintained.

The drought certainly has had a major impact on the local courses around Brisbane. I played the front 9 here in July and was very dis-heartened to see the terrible condition of the course. There were almost no playable surfaces on the majority of fairways. Most were covered with large expansive hard bare areas and patchy clumps of dry tough grass that only softened up as around the fringes of the greens. There was so little cover on some of the fairways that on the steeper sections the ball would roll backwards down the slope 20m or more off into the rough and be almost unplayable. However, the course definately has potential for a challenge, so I will certainly go back when the fairways have recovered enough to do it justice. At the moment though, I will keep looking around for a more enjoyable course to have a hit.

I played Pine Rivers on feb 18, and it was terrible. There was no definition between fairway and rough, the fairways if you could call them that were full of stalky grass, bare patches everywhere. I love hitting a great drive down the middle to find you are in a bare patch surrounded by tufts of stalky grass, so all you can do is try to punch it out. The only thing that was reasonable was the fact that there greens were nice to hit into, and reasonably true to put on. They really need to lift there game on course presentation

I had my first round of golf at Pine Rivers Golf Club and it's a tidy course. Map is located at the back of the scorecards and that is very helpful for visitors.

Very hilly course and undulating fairways. Greens are a little slow but overall condition is very good.

Favourite hole will have to be on number 17, 250m? dog leg right with huge dam 10 meter in front of green in play. Drive it straight to the pin and it's possible to put it on the green and hopefully putt for eagle.

I have played this course on and off for about 20 years. It can rate anywhere between 1 and a hald and 3 stars in rating. If there has been good rain in the past month it will be good if not then it will be bad. Tha main problem is the fairways are very hilly so the water runs off a lot of the fairways. Anyway you be the judge!

101. youngsterguy | Rated | 07 Jan 2006 | Add A Review

Its a very hilly but very good course. You can just hop on the train and takes a couple of min (depending where u get on). It is a course where u need to have a driver and a good driver because there is some painful par 5's but the par 4's and 3's are hard as well.

Pine Rivers Golf Club, may be challenging but with its superb fairways, moderate greens and beautiful scenry, it definately would be my favourite golf course.

The are a few hills but it just adds to the courses scenry and makes it challenging, i mean, who wants to play at a course thats flat and is an easy par? hmm NOT ME! I'll stick to pine rivers thankyou very much:-)

103. Lloydee | Rated | 29 Apr 2005 | Add A Review

The Pine Rivers Golf Club is an extremely challenging course. It is an undulating layout with above average greens and hard fairways.

The hardness of the fairways can add a few onto your card so be sure to be on your game when you attempt the PRGC.

The course isn't as picturesque as others but it does boast the Lakeside Race track as it's neighbour. However, what it lacks in beauty it makes up for in testing your ability to select the right shot.

In closing, this course is worth a look, purely for the challenge!

I play as a sub-junior at pine rivers and it is a really good course. Paid $15 for 18 holes and had a really good time. challenging water holes, beautiful fairways and the clubhouse isn't bad either.

105. bossshadow | Rated | 25 Aug 2004 | Add A Review

This Golf Course is located over the road from Dakabin Railway Station and Lakeside raceway is behind it.

The course is no long but it requires you to think more about your shot than just blaze away with your driver.

The fairways are a variety of slopes with uphill, down hill, above & Below your feet so you have a chalange on every shot.

The greens are normaly fast and deceptive.

The course has good access on weekends and can be rewarding to play.
