Established in 1915 Port Lincoln measures 5805m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 120-160m, ten par 4s ranging from 290-365m and four par 5s ranging 430-525m.

Course has mostly small bent grass greens with medium sized pine tree-lined and wide and quite lush kikiyu fairways after the winter rains. The layout has a few hills with 12 bunkers on the course.

The front nine begins with a few easy straight par 4s with the flags visible from the tee with the 365m 3rd (index 1) having a blind teeshot over a crest to a small green. Actually small greens are a feature on most holes on the front nine with minimal bunkering. Highlights include: the 120m uphill 6th (index 15) with 2 bunkers guarding the small green shortside; the 525m slight dogleg right 7th (index 11) with a downhill teeshot with 3 rows of tall pine trees on the right; and the 160m uphill 9th (index 7) which is easily the largest green on the front nine – at least 30m long.

The back nine has medium sized greens with a few more hills and bunkers and most holes have doglegs with the flags not visible from teebox. Highlights include: the 360m slight dogleg right 11th (index 6) with a downhill teeshot to a medium-sized green guarded by 2 bunkers rightside; the 160m slightly downhill 12th (index 12) with 2 bunkers guarding shortside; and the 325m straight uphill 17th (index 2) with 2 fairway bunkers on the right about 110-130m short of the bunkerless green. Also there are some views of the Little Swamp lake on the 14th tee.

Overall, a pretty well presented country course. The par 4s are all quite short with similar style which makes the course a little boring if you are a decent golfer. The layout sees you near the clubhouse at the 6th, 9th and 18th greens – all are par 3s too.
Played here 20/09/2011 with $15 weekday green fees and $20 weekend green fees. The course is located 5km west of the town centre along the Flinders Highway.

PL recieves more rainfall than most locations on the Eyre Peninsula and it shows on the course during Spring. Despite having no full-time professional PL has around 14000 people and along with Whyalla they are the pick of the courses on the Eyre Peninsula. Worth a round here as every course to Whyalla are black soil scrapes

This is quite a hilly course and also fairly short for Men. The layout is good, but we played it in early Feb and so the fairways were very patchy. The greens were good, although a little slow. Lots of doglegs and when the wind blows can become difficult. Green fees of $15 mid week and $20 weekends are very reasonable. The Par is 72 for Men with a rating of 70 and Par 72 for Ladies with a rating of 72. Well woth a hit if are in the area as there are no other grass greens anywhere near here.
