I played this course on a Monday afternoon and green fees were over $30, pro-shop staff were rude, so started on a bad note. Course was in superb condition and is typical of north coast courses. Short layout, lush, good greens.
Would definitely suit members or older players as it really is in exceptional condition. 6 of the green were about to become renovated though and judging by how good the others were I would say this is a regular occurence.
Course - short, but very good
Condition - exceptional
Only downfall was the reception by pro staff.

Measures 5884m Par 71 with 4 Par 3s ranging from 135-170m, 11 Par 4s ranging from 310-380m and 3 Par 5s ranging from 475-505m. This is the best kept course, along with Camden Haven GC in the Hastings region. Fairways are lush, but kept well-trim, hardly a bad lie out there, greens are true, fast and consistently good roll. Teebeds are fantastic and flat, although I did play straight after a Vets comp (26/9/06), so the social plates were right back with the members, where I like them!
Great variety of holes here. Downhill teeshots (1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 18th), no uphill teeshots though. Doglegs (4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 17th). Water coming into play on (2nd, 12th, 14th). All holes and greens have at least 1 bunker to avoid. I prefer the front nine (3 hardest index holes) than the back nine, which is longer than the back too.
Par 3s are challenging, as most are severely bunkered. Par 5s are all different in strategy, but similar in challenge. Par 4s here although has you hitting the same club off the tee, your approach is all but. Probably the best attributes of the course, holes 2-4 are great as are the 14th and 15th - all par 4s.
Paid $30 green fees which is quite good and they accept all forms of payment, which is rare at country golf courses. Be back here for sure.

being a member of another golf club i was very dissapointed in the way i was recieved and treated by the pro shop assistance. the course was in fair condition but i expected it to be better with the cost of green fees being expensive. i was also suprised to find so many bunkers held water after a small amount of rain.i hope that part of my high green fees go towards drainage of bunkers my next visit i look forward to playing at other courses within the area

As mentioned previously, a really good course, played there on the Monday before ANZAC day.
Pro shop nice and friendly, informed us of the temporary green in play and how it was much faster than the actual greens (which were like putting on glass by the way).
Course is in great nick and I must say rival the best greens I have EVER putted on. They were absolutely true. Even though they were fast you knew halfway to the hole on a 20 footer if the ball was going in.
Great experience and would love it if greens in Sydney were in such good condition as these. Rest of the course was in really good shape too - very impressed.

As mentioned in other reviews, outstanding work by the greens staff to deliver a course in such impeccable condition.
However, the layout is only average with some very short par 4s and at times the course is just up and back, up and back with overly repetitive tree lined fairways. A couple of tougher par 5s and some nice par 3s add a more interest.
Pin placements on the day were on the side of major slopes, far too close to the apron and the greens were just too fast.
Worth a hit if you are in the area or on a social day.

what a supurb well structured course and green staff. I yet again have to comment on this wondeful course as i have never experienced a more nicer and friendlier atmosphere. I played here in there last saturday comp and without fail the course is in supburb shape. Greens are still nice and quick and fairways are very lush and green. I would just like to say hi to young josh crowe as i didnt get to see him this time i was up. mate hope your going alright with your apprenticeship and hope to have a game with you soon.. maybe next visit

this golf course would be absoluetly no where without there green
staff. the time these guys put in is outstanding as a played with
one of them. a young upcoming junior just starting his
apprenticeship. josh crowe only 16 wakes up every morning at 4am
and is so dedicated to his job. a very outgoing and great
personalty who can crack a few jokes. course is in good shape
with fast rolling greens. hard in spots with a few long demanding
holes. any young lady golfers if ever play this course, ask about
this young fella. defiantely worth having a round with
all in all good solid course

My partner and I recently played in a mixed comp and found the locals a happy bunch. The issue is with so many members that you cannot always get a game - socially it's very difficult.
The comps are cheaper so if you are a member, play in them, you get your round finished quicker as well.
The course isn't overly long and the greens are reasonable, not a forgiving course so you have to be fairly straight on most holes.
A well stocked pro shop and good food in the club -

I recently played this course one sunday while I was visiting the town the course itself is very good condition and the greens are very nice but I think there is a point where greens get to quick, So quick that it was to hard to even get a putt near the hole.
The members in this club are very snobbie and they sqeeze to many people on the course, so rounds become five hour plus but a good golf course.

Port is a nice day out. The course is always in excellent condition and the greens are probally the truest on the MNC. Don’t expect to turn up and play in the comp’s as they have heaps of members playing and getting a game is very difficult. If you get the opportunity to play here, do it!!
