The Proserpine Golf Club is located at the gateway to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland, Australia. The picturesque 18 hole golf course is nestled amongst sugar cane fields with a variety of trees and wild life around the course.

The opening nine is a Par 36 that plays 2,874 metres from the men’s markers and 2,740 metres from the ladies tees. The front nine consists of one par 5, seven par 4’s and one long par 3. A player will encounter narrow fairways, sloping greens, and a variety of hazards on their journey.

After completing the front nine, the player can get refreshments at the Pro Shop. A cool drink and a bite to eat will give the player the required nourishment to embark on the challenging journey to complete the back nine.

The back nine measures slightly over 2,900 metres from the men’s tees and 2,600 metres from the ladie’s tees. The back nine has one par 5, which is a tricky dog-leg with hazards on both sides of the fairway. There are six par 4’s which will test the player’s patience and skills with a variety of different clubs. The par 3’s require good tee shots as both are protected by a running creek.

After the round, the player can take a deep breath, and enjoy a refreshment either in the Bar or the Beer Garden.

Played with 2 mates last weekend and for a reciprical club we were charged $27 to play in the comp, wouldn’t of minded too much as we pay that to visit quality clubs in our region but, the fairways were dead, very little grass, lots of cracks, dead greens, playing amongst groups of 5 and 7 for a saturday comp and the pro was rude and rather unfriendly, we wont be going back. There are better options around.

THis is a course that I grew up playing Junior golf on & occassionally liberated balls from the creeks. Well the course is a great country public course.

Watch the carpark off the tee on the 1st for a par 4. The back nine has several holes with creek hazards to be aware of & overhanging trees. A fairly flat course that has a couple of doglegs & nice spongy greens.

The Proserpine Golf Course has a good balance of Trees, Long rough and Fairway widths the front nine is the most forgiving with only 3 holes giving opportunity for going out of bounds No.2 Par 4 is only a short hole but is protected by a deep water logged drain in front and out of bounds at the back most holes have hazard areas or other potential problems around a normal driving distance.

The back nine holes starts with a dogleg left tempting players to drive over the trees to the green also have a water filled Creek running through 3 of the nine holes Cane Fields and out of bounds runs along two of the Fairways pushing you to the inside of the fairways into the trees

information is kept upto date and can be found on the web site of www.proserpinegolfclub.com.au
