Located 10km south of the city centre Randwick is a par 59, 18 hole, golf course. It is a very short course but has a lot to offer in spactacular ocean views from several of its holes, at a reasonable price.

Played the course on blustery Labour Day holiday yesterday – greens were great, the fairways were green and fair. Wind cuts straight through you on days like that, but added a nice challenge to the day.

I like this course and play it regularly. There has been a lot of work done in the last few months and the course maintenance is at the best I’ve seen it. The first 5 or so holes are a pleasure to play – the views are outstanding and they’re not easy holes.
Its very short but some tough holes make up some way for that. A round at the weekend can get a bit random, been round in 3 1/2 hours on a glorious sunny Saturday arvo but if busy nearer 4 1/2. Wind comes into play a lot but that adds to the challenge.

Great staff in the pro shop and 19th hole, yes it can be a little relaxed some days out of comp’s but I have seen the course improve in many ways, Darren is funny and knowledgeable.

Fun course. Easy to walk and very short (no par 5s).
Need to be accurate off the tee on windy days or you end up in the drink pretty quickly.

Only thing to note: You booking time means nothing. Its just an open tee on Friday arvo at least. The club house doesn’t seem to have a problem with allowing groups of up to 8 to play together either. If you luck out it could be a very slow round.

Interesting course, and a lot of fun, for a course mainly with Par 3’s.

It has a good mixture of hole’s, with some very long Par 3’s (235m), but also with some very small Park 3’s (~90m).

The greens are in great condition, generally fairly big, with various undulations to test your putting.

A great course for a social hit with your mates, as you can be back in the club house in few hours for a few beers.

Played here weekend of 4/3/06 and played off back members markers, and it measured 3545m Par 59 with 13 Par 3s ranging from 95-235m and FIVE Par 4s ranging from 255-350m. No doglegs, no par 5s and no fairway bunkers. Lots of ocean/wind/water hazards.

A very basic short game course that has many par 3s to practice short hitting and hitting into gusts of wind. The greens were slow, small with little to no break, but can become fast and firm when the wind dries the surface. This is one of 4 adjacent courses along the Sydney Pacific coast (Randwick, The Coast, St.Michaels, NSW). The 360 degree views from the 6th and 15th teebeds are magnificent.

Few highlights are the 234m Par 3 6th with OOB on the left, 176m Par 3 17th with the largest green on the course flanked by 3 bunkers hidden from the tee and the first 5 holes have OOB ocean on the left! An unusual layout with the 8th and 13th holes overlapping so watch out. The course is not that well maintained with poor teebeds, fairways and slightly better greens, but decent green fees for unlimited holes after 4pm $16 otherwise it is $23 for 18 holes 7 days a week.

Randwick GC is a par 59 layout next door to The Coast with St. Michael's and NSW further down the coastline. Randwick has the most spectacular views of the ocean and coastline of any course in Sydney and on a windy day is quite imposing.

Whilst there are no par 5's at Randwick, there are plenty of long par 3's that require woods off the tee, particularly the 6th which at 234m is the longest par 3 in NSW (and probably Australia). The ocean provides a tantalising hazard on the first 5 holes and if there is a strong westerly wind blowing it can act like a magnet for stray balls.

Although visitors from long courses may not afford this course much respect because of its length, it requires an immaculate short game and the mastery of hitting into strong winds to be played to handicap. The greens are not particularly big and some tee positions are close to green edges which makes chipping difficult.

The clubhouse offers excellent views of the ocean and the members are very welcoming. Open days are Tuesday and Sunday. I have been a member of this course for 5 years and have enjoyed playing it immensely. For those on golfing holidays to Sydney, Randwick GC is a good warm-up for its longer cousins next door and will test your short game for sure.

This was one of the first courses I played.

Randwick golf course is only a short course. The fairways are flat and kept in good condition. The greens tended to be meduim on most but some were fast.

This course is kept in good nick all year round. It offers terrific views on the pacific. Most holes are par 3s some interesting like the 3rd. Some par 4s are a nice length.

On windy days this course will cause problems.

Randwich runs alongside of the coast golf club, st micheals, and N.S.W. If your willing to take on any of these three hit Randwich first.

In all Randwich was a plesure im willing to go back...

Short course, Links style (virtually no trees so hard to lose the ball). Tees, greens and fairways generally kept in good condition. No single hole could really be classed as 'difficult', although slopes in some fairways may see you bounce/roll off a few on the ocean side. Some greens are quite small. 15th tee is elevated and gives a spectacular view of the Pacific. No par 5 holes. Good value (midweek $22 currently).

All in all a very pleasant round with the sea breeze to keep you cool. However, it can be tough when the wind gets up.

Randwick Golf Club is a tricky course with prodomatly par 3's. The course plays really tough esspcially on windy days. The course has very few trees and is situated on the coast which provides a great veiws.
