Measures 6033m Par 72 with five par 3s ranging from 125-199m, eight par 4s ranging from 289-398m and five par 5s ranging from 474-510m.
I was surprised by the wide lush opening 342m slight dogleg right 1st to an unbunkered green. I quickly realised that not all fairways are as lush as the opening hole.
Grass greens are a little slow but are not too tricky to read. Most greens are unbunkered and smallish in size. The teeboxes are reasonable. The fairways have some good grass cover, with divots lifting dark rich soild underneath. There are no bunkers on the course.
The layout has its doglegs and its wide fairways are quite forgiving. The trees which line the fairways are not overly tall and has a dirt undergrowth which makes it hard to hit the green. You never know how dry or damp that dirt is.
A little confusing front nine when you have to cross the 2nd fairway to reach the 7th tee. The front nine is a boring up and back journey. The short uphill 125m 8th has grassy mounds short and along the leftside green. The back nine is no greater challenge for the lower handicappers. The par 5s are weak and with no course bunkering, it is an easy course to play. The 302m dogleg right 18th is a weak finishing hole.
Located 14km south of Mildura via the Calder Highway on the way to Red Cliffs. Played here 02/08/2010 and paid $20 green fees. Better than Merbein, but not as good as Coomealla, Riverside, Mildura or even Wentworth.

Played there a couple of weeks ago and whilstthe fairways have a few dry patches, there is grass on all fairways. The greens are in tip top condition, always have been. The fairways are narrow and with mallee trees, there is the challenge for any male golfer. Great place to play golf..

A very challenging course because of the Mallee scrub. Whilst the course is struggling a bit due to the drought and restrictions on irrigation water, this course is still worth trying. The combination of grass greens and Mallee scrub is something very rarely experienced. The greens and tees are in excellent condition but the fairways are a bit sparse at the moment.
PROS
- Great people and a very casual atmosphere
Cons
- A bit difficult to find and struggling with the drought

They have lost their water allocation and are very badly drought affected – some fairways had barely a blade of grass when we played there in late July. Men’s layout isn’t bad, although greens don’t tend to present much challenge, but ladies’ layout is very short. Not recommended for anyone in its present condition, and not for ladies who relish a challenge at any time.

The Red Cliffs Golf Course is a challenging course but a great course to play. The water hazards don’t come into play unless you hook big time!!
There are 2 new huge greens which are a delight to putt on.
There is no watering problems as the course is watered with recycle water.
The locals are friendly.
Had a great time.
Will go back again sometime

Being an ex local, I have played this course many a time.
Big wide fairways which provide excellent lies, greens are usually in top condition.
Has some challenging holes, but good scores are very achievable if you stay out of the mallee trees.
It is these trees which make it a very interesting course to play - they are basically a stump with a whole lot of branches coming out of the ground - if you get behind one, they are a real challenge to get through or around.
If you are visiting the area, it is well worth a game, just don't expect a standard style course - and take plenty of water with you!

Course is in great condition for one of the more lower profile courses in the region. Went midweek (Tuesday afternoon) and virtually had the course to ourselves.
The lack of bunkering does make the course a little mundane in areas, and the lush fairways do make the course play a little longer than it seems (just over 6000m). Greens were in good condition, but slow which did allow for attacking putting.
The lack of signage in direction to the next tee on some of the holes does make things confusing. The par 3 8th is probably the most picturesque hole and although short the green is challenging.
For a smaller country club and course I would recommend it – especially if you aren’t keep on sand traps.
