What a DUMP. Very hard to call it a golf course.i have been playing golf for 40 years and it is the werst course buy a countyr mile. There is not one good think that you can say about the course. The owner has NO IDEAR hoe to run a golf course.

Does not rate at all

played riverlands last week saturday comp, what a joke, told 9 greens back in play. condition of these greens is shocking, full of bumps bare spots and not at all good to play on – how long does it take to get full 18 grens in play??? not many memebers playing i can see why.

Course is going downhill at an alarming rate my advise is dont play there

No longer a member here, such a shame, place has really been let go,management need to pull their fingers out and spend some money on the place instead of penny pinching, greens are in the worst state ive ever seen any green in at any course, considering only last october they were immaculate,oh how quickly that can change! what lies ahead in the future for riverlands? only time will tell, my advice is shut it down, this aint a golf course anymore its a practice range at best.

Totally agree with you wayne – also played course on 11/3/2010 just to see if anything had changed and surprise nothing if anything worse than before- Greens are appalling , temps are a joke, putting green -terrible – i beleive they have no qualified staff working there and have no idea what is going on -The course is not worth spending money at and i will now not return ever – It is such a shame really as it was a decent course a few years ago!!!

I played Riverlands last weekend (14/3/10) to say I was disgusted in the condition of the course is and understatement. We arrived to find that all greens were temporary not to bad you think. Well as temporary greens they were very ordinary with the 17th being an absolute joke. But when you look at the actual greens no wonder they needed temporary ones, the condition of the greens was atrocious not to mention several of the bunkers with weeds growing through most of them. After playing there we can only summise that the course is being closed down. The condition of not only of the temporary greens but the whole course was disappointing. I will definitely not be back

i WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO COMMENT ON rIVERLANDS AFTER HAVING PLAYED AT THIS COURSE MANY TIMES OVER THE PAST 4 years the course itself over the past 12-18months is totally shocking after playing last week and the week before i cannot express how bad this place looks , it is a disgrace to be charged to play here and also for the pro shop staff not to even advice you of how bad this course is- shame on you riverlands – what about the putting green ( or should i say dirt patch) this course is a joke and will never see my money again – Georges river is the place to be – goof greens ,fairways oh i forgot a actual golf course to play on- Greens staff if that is what they call themselves should seriously take up a new profession because they havent mastered this one yet!! I have told at least 40 people not to play there and will continue to do so it is not a golf course it is a goat track!!!

Vongreen while you are right to stand up for your local course I’m afraid I can’t agrre with you. People I played this course on the weekend and it would have to be one of the worst courses I’ve played on. When booking the round I asked the guy in the pro shop whether all greens were in play and he was right to tell me yes but he forgot to mention what state they were in.And the bunkers weren’t much better. I did enjoy the beer after a hot days play but i don’t think they’ll see my money again.

Was really excited about playing at Riverlands. But it wasnt as I expected. Some of the fairways and tees need a clean up. Some really challenging bunkers. 12th is a really nice hole on the river with a big lake surrounding the tee. Most of the back nine has good river views. The front nine wasnt too good. I dint really enjoy the layout. Overall Riverlands is an ok course but with some work on the fairways it could be a lot better.

cashy you should not be so critical, especially when you dont know whats going on buddy! i am now a member of this course and quite happy with the place, the greens staff have very little budget to work with and very out dated machinery, its a wonder they can do anything with what they’ve got. its people like you cashy that will bag out a course, that for starters is only worth $600 a year for full membership and expect it to look like royal sydney, i take offence to your comments as i am a member of this course, grow up buddy! you pay for what get. go play a group 1 course then if you aint happy and will see they have their problems too.

hated the entire course. from the moment i walked up to the clubhouse/proshop i thought what am i doing in this dump. it looks depressing, but good food. condition of greens, shocking, tess are terrible. green staff need to pull thier finger out, maybe they should try reading a book or talking to a real green keeper as to how to run a course. poa is riddled all over the greens with bunkers (if you would call them that) are covered with about 5 cm’s of sand with rocks underneath. on a good note the fairways are easy to play off.

Unless you are a chopper, dont bother going there, a lot better options in Sydney for a game of golf

Nice course for beginners, easy for walking, very flat. Most fairways lined with trees. Some great stand-out holes, great members. Very short, great value for money.

Looking very green at the moment and not as much dirt on the fairways like it has been in the past. Great course for the social player but still think there is a challenge there for all. Much better than 18 months ago!!! worth a look

wow! what great challenging course this is, maintained to a good standard considering the the amount of ground staff they have working there (five), greens are smaller in size but in perfect condition and there is great looking tees and fairways, rough is thick in some areas and thin in some, but hey what are doing in the rough anyway.the course has a number of hazards bunkers n water which actually makes you think of club selection, a great course for the price $15 unlimited golf after 12.30pm, i definately will be playing there again.

Short course. And I mean very short. Two of the par 3 holes I hit a sand wedge off the tee. Very flat, some good bunkers. There is some work happening on the course on some holes. Boomed a drive down the middle of the 9th to find it sitting in a massive dirt/rock patch that should have been fairway – blowout material there. Hopefully these should all be fixed up soon. Back nine is definately the better nine. Clubhouse is good as well. Best hole is the par 4 18th, a left dog leg over a crest to a small elevated green protected by 3 big deep bunkers. Good for a hit with the mates, and usually easy to get on as well.

Riverlands is a course that doesn’t play overly long but you still neede to be straight from the tee. Holes 9, 11-13, 18 are the highlights of the course. It is good value for money and they are working hard at improving the course. A good day out for all.

Riverlands is a nice course for those who are new to the game as it is very flat and easy to walk with some short par 4s that are within reach of a drive and a wedge, the only down side is the lack of grass on the fairways causing good shots to be penalised through bad lies, also on the day i played it had been blowing a gale for 2 days and the greens were rock hard with even well struck lob wedges bouncing through the greens.

I have to agree with Pinseeker! Course was poorly maintained, with every fairway looking like it was GUR. Fairways were very dry and brown and looked like they were regrowing the grass from dirt. Greens were two-paced, and good shots rolled into dirt patches (while in the middle of the fairway).

If you are desperate to play then jump on, as it is quite cheap $20 weekdays for 18 holes. But wait til some rain prefarrably after summer to play, as it is bone dry.

24. pinseeker | Rated | 16 Sep 2005 | Add A Review

Unpleasant first time due to poor maintenance of the fairways. Terrible second shot lies despite having hit the fairway almost every time. A below average course but it is fairly cheap. A round for 2 and a cart for a measly $50 on a weekday.

Always easy to get on. Great for social players who like to have hack with their mates. With a new clubhouse the course will only get better, good value for money.

Riverlands is a mildly undulating and moderately bunkered course. From the plates, it measures a total distance of 4,865m (2,487 for the front nine, 2,378 for the back nine). A Par 67, Riverlands' ACR is 66.4.

For the ladies, the course measures 4,586m (2,332m for the front nine, 2,254m for the back nine). The AWCR is 69 and it plays as a Par 69.

This is the old East Hills golf course. Totally flat, tree lined with small flat greens. Not too difficult, but pleasant nonetheless.

They have recently rerouted the hole due to the new clubhouse being built.

Most holes are straight forward, except for one stupid par 4 where you have too lay up with a 7 iron, the play another 7 iron to the green. This one hole almost wrecks the whole course.
