Measures 4328m Par 55 (14 holes) with three par 3s ranging from 122-171m, nine fairly short par 4s ranging from 301-345m and two par 5s ranging from 464-468m. To play 18 holes you play the 1st, 2nd, 8th & 9th holes again and the short 122m 16th for a total length of 5809m Par 72 layout.

Course has lush kikuyu / rye grass fairways with kikuyu / clover grass on the teebeds. There is some thick rye grass surrounding the smallish grass greens. There are only 2 bunkers on the course which guard the 9th/18th green at the clubhouse.

Highlights include the 6 holes on the western (beach/lighthouse) side of Morphett Street: the opening 459m/464m slight bend left 1st/10th with the OOB sportsfield/cemetery along the right; the 345m slight dogleg left 11th which plays uphill to the green for the last 100m with thick vegetation along the leftside; the 323m straight and slightly downhill 12th with an elevated teebed with thick vegetation lining both sides of the fairway which has good views of the lighthouse; apart from the slight dogleg right and from a teebed where you can hear the waves crashing on Robe’s West Beach the 301m short 13th plays similar to the challenging 11th hole; the 151m 14th with a downhill teeshot from an elevated teebed with the irrigation pond 10-40m short left of the bunkerless green; the 2nd/15th plays straight with thick vegetation along the right which plays as the longest par 4 on the course when from the slightly elevated 15th tee.

The 8 holes on the eastern (clubhouse) side of Morphett Street are generally; flat, poorly maintained, too open and boring when compared to the 6 holes mentioned in more detail above. Despite this the stand out holes on this side include: the 322m slight dogleg left 5th with the red-staked swamp water hazard on the left from the lush couch teebed; and the 319m straight 9th/18th with OOB right off the fairway with the 2 greenside bunkers over the back.

Apart from the Adelaide sandbelt courses and having played all country grass green courses in the state, I must say, holes 11-14 were the most memorable stretch of golfing holes I played on.

I hear they have purchased more land to expand. I would rather see them sell the land east of the dirt Davenport Street road for housing (as these holes are quite boring compared to its back nine holes and lets the course down) and expand out towards the beach with more holes like the 11-14 stretch.

Robe is a picturesque coastal town of around 1250 people about 30 minutes from either Kingston SE or Beachport.

Played here on 5th October 2011 with $20 green fees for 9 holes and $25 green fees for 18 holes.

Fourteen hole course still with recent land purchase completed to make expansion possible.

Front nine is on the flat and the par fives are hard work in the winter winds, First hole has OB to the right and Sheoaks seperating the adjacent 2nd fairway. The 2nd is a tee shot off an elevated tee block on the sand dunes, with OB to the right again. Slices on the fiorst two holes can have the added penalties to your score at teh befgining of a round. The fourth a 165m par three needs a straight shot with trees to the sides. Number 5 is often straight into any winds on a day and a dogleg left with a large lateral water hazard on the left of the fairway.

The "back nine" has four holes in the dune area with uphill and downhill fairways and off the fairway is best followed with a provisonal hit before going to search for a ball in natural bush. Eleven is a par 4 uphill dogleg to the left and is the hardest rated hole on the course. Number 12 is a 300m par 4 that is down hill towards the ocean and open to the howling gales. A slice is into the bush, a hook or pull here can make the safety of the adjoining fairway and stay in play. Number 13 up hill and a dogleg to the right 310m but again accurate on the fairway or another lost ball, only 200m to the turn so hitting less than a driver is my choice on this tee. 14th is a 150 m par 3 down will to a green that is surrounded by long grass and a (reclaimed water pond) lateral water hazard to the left and short of the green. Hitting the green in the still of summer is not too hard but again the winter winds and reloading off the tee is best if your shot goes right into the bush

An interesting course where there is a fourteen fairway layout, played as an eighteen hole. (Four fairways are played twice, two from a different tee)

One of the higlights of the course would be the 2nd hole where the right hand side is out of bounds and the vehicle track along this side is part of the course, so shots need to be taken fromt there.

Overall an interesting course with good wide fairways and true greens.
