The Proserpine Golf Club is located at the gateway to the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland, Australia. The picturesque 18 hole golf course is nestled amongst sugar cane fields with a variety of trees and wild life around the course.
The opening nine is a Par 36 that plays 2,874 metres from the men’s markers and 2,740 metres from the ladies tees. The front nine consists of one par 5, seven par 4’s and one long par 3. A player will encounter narrow fairways, sloping greens, and a variety of hazards on their journey.
After completing the front nine, the player can get refreshments at the Pro Shop. A cool drink and a bite to eat will give the player the required nourishment to embark on the challenging journey to complete the back nine.
The back nine measures slightly over 2,900 metres from the men’s tees and 2,600 metres from the ladie’s tees. The back nine has one par 5, which is a tricky dog-leg with hazards on both sides of the fairway. There are six par 4’s which will test the player’s patience and skills with a variety of different clubs. The par 3’s require good tee shots as both are protected by a running creek.
After the round, the player can take a deep breath, and enjoy a refreshment either in the Bar or the Beer Garden.

Measures 5626m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 104-198m, ten par 4s ranging from 285-386m and four par 5s ranging from 429-467m.
Course has 18 black soil scrapes with mostly straight holes like the 304m 1st (index 13) with the flags visible from the tee mound. No surprises here. Basic golf facilities. Fees are $5.
Course access is 4km west along Golf Course Road off the A32 Barrier Highway at approximately 350m above sea level.
Saddleworth is a small town of around 450 people about 35km south-east of Clare.
Closest grass green courses are Clare, 9-holer at Kapunda and even Balaklava (40km west) and Burra (55km north).
