Played Sale Golf Club this morning. Course in excellent condition. Definitely one of the better Gippsland Courses. Much beeter than those in the Latrobe Valley other than Yallourn.

Sale has a nice layout and is undergoing some major changes. A lot of trees have been removed from inside and outside the course which has opened it up a lot but in my opinion hasn’t improved the course. Now very open to the elements and not enjoyable at all to play when the wind blows. On a good day its a nice course – but the claim as being one of the best outside Melbourne is a bit over the top.

As a member of a very small club in the drought stricken area of Central Qld. I can only dream of having a course like this to play on regularly.

Murphy's Law says that the day the leader of the opposition and I turned up they were poisoning the front nine!

Oh well, I played the backe twice and found it a very decent course. As we passed a couple of front nine holes I could see a bit of fun would be had.

As for the back ,don't go in the greenside bunker on the thirteenth.

Probably would get an extra half a star if we could have played the front.

Not expensive and a nice clubhouse ,thanks to the cleaner who looked after we poor visitors.

One of the best courses outside Melbourne. This course is very underrated. The 6th hole is a par three of 168 meters that will rival any par three in the sandbelt. Unreal. The views are breathtaking. Best 25 bucks of spend on a golf course in ages.

Sale Golf Club is located approx. 8km south of Sale. The course presents itself in very good condition all year round, and provides golfers of all standards with an enjoyable round of golf, set amongst a backdrop of both native eucalypts and imposing pine stands. The front nine winds itself around the perimeter of the course, bringing Out Of Bounds into play for wayward tee shots, while the back nine occupies the inner part of the course, centred around the lake (although this really only comes into play on the par 5 15th).

The club is undergoing a number of changes with the express aim of developing the course into one of the premier Victorian courses outside of metropolitan Melbourne. With four par 3's, twelve par 4's and only two par 5's, the 5117-metre layout is not overly long, but the small-to-medium sized greens are well bunkered, and the fairways are well tree-lined without being too narrow. All in all, this is a course well worth playing if you are passing through the Gippsland region.
