Played here on 19/3/10. Loved it. Really well kept course, friendly local and pro-shop and a good challenge. The wombats playing in front (our mates) ensured it was not a ’quick’ round, but otherwise, strongly recommended. I do suspect that a greenkeeper nicked my ball from the middle of the fairway on the 10th – worse than any crow!

Turned up for a run in the comp on Sat 23rd. Was a two man ambrose which is unusual for competition. Stuck my name down anyway and poor old Bob was teamed up with me. We came second last!

Blame the first time yips. Course has recovered well from the big rain and was enjoyable despite the poor golf on my part. Great company helped. Noticed much too late that placement more important than length off the tee here.

Alround interesting course in great setting only just out of town. Hope your new bunkers full of Qld sand are worth it. Might see ya again. The Relic.

Nice country course in excellent condition. Greens were firm and quite quick. An interesting layout, although a little bit hilly. The locals are friendly and they have lots of open days. There is quite a bit of water in play and a good variation in the length of the holes. The 15th is a tough par 3 with the green offset a bit. The green is also huge and has a lot of movement in it, there are pin placements that mean it is possible to putt off the green if you are not careful. Well worth a visit.

This course has undergone a few renovations since I last played there a few years back. As always the the staff were friendly and really make and effort to welcome you to their club. The fairways were are getting better all the time and are surprisingly good considering the recent lack of rainfall and the salty air. With the prevailing north easter blowing all day the course was quite a challenge with some of the narrow fairways. The greens are an absolute pleasure to putt on, if not a little slow, but with the ball rolling true after every strike they are a very enjoyable challenge. If you’re in the area make sure you drop in for a round at what I would say is the best value for money course in the area, and the beers are nice and cold as well:)

Tucked away at the back of Sawtell this course is a must play if staying on the MNC.

Friendly and helpfull members usually make any visitor feel welcome.

The course offers 18 holes that are all well maintained. Its not an overly challenging course but trouble is never far away for a wayward shot.

It does tend to hold water on its fairways after rain periods.

The 328 Couch greens would be the best on the Mid North Coast and in the middle of winter are like putting on concrete.

Most of the tee boxes are nice and level but a couple of the fairways have surface drainage making some stances interesting. Knowledge of the G.U.R rule is a must!!

My favourite hole is 12, a 500m dead straight par 5, with the railway line and O.O.B the whole way on the right, collecting thousands of sliced drives a year. If you are a slicer, pack a couple of extra balls and a bible.

The clubhouse offers food all weekend and a sit down meal on a Fri night.

All greens and fairways ran and bounced heaps. A tight course with quite a few bunkers

Played here 10/4/06 and played off back markers, following a (few) slow groups that made completing the course in 4 hours a challenge. Measuring 5669m Par 71 off the back markers with a layout of four Par 3s ranging from 135-190m, 3 Par 5s ranging from 430-500m and 11 Par 4s ranging from 255-360m. Can become very boring, with most holes tailing to the left, and you hit the same club off the tee ñ not many options.

The course is fairly tight with challenging bunkering on some holes. Greens are in fairly good condition, but lack a good bunker complex, teebeds are in great condition, and fairways are lush. Hazards include water (4th, 7th, 11th, 12th,13th,14th). Few highlights are the sharp dogleg left 500m 8th, 135m 11th with water right running along the leftside of green, Par 5 12th along the railway line with water drain left, and 163m 15th from an elevated tee to an elevated green over a gully with bunkers over the back and rightside green.

Staff are friendly, but the members here do not allow faster players through which is very frustrating and not abiding by golf rules. There should be marshalls on this course to speed up the players. Quick game is a good game.

whilst the course is a reasonable layout, it is not a course that deals well with the wet weather. both Coffs and Bonville had experienced the same levels of rainfall prior to my playing the area and while they were both in reasonable order (or better) this course had been closed for 6 days and the fairways had still not been able to be properly mown.

The layout is short and very rarely is Driver an option and some fo the hole designs are sadly lacking.

The club and members however are top class and certainly make up for some of the shortcomings of the course

Alot of people head to Coffs for Bonville and maybe Coffs Harbour Golf Course, but, I would take the time to play this lovely little course. It is not very long but can be tricky. An example of which is the 2nd hole of about 260m. Some might be thinking about driving the green however, the fairway runs fairly steeply then to the left. The hole is protected around the back and sides by large bunkers. Danger every where!

Please, if you make your way up there and you can't get on Bonville, which is why I found my way to Sawtell, give this course a go! You won't regret it.

The first course I ever played golf on and I returned after 10years to find a much improved golf course and club. I played in the Saturday Comp before Xmas and was impressed by how welcome I was made to feel as a visitor. The greens have all been reconstructed during the nineties and were a pleasure to putt on. The fairways were in great shape considering the drought at the time. Only areas of the rough had suffered due to the combination of lack of water and salt air. I played with a group of older members and we all had a great time and picking up prizes was a bonus. Another surprise was when I went into the pro shop and found the Club Pro was Robert TAYLOR who I had went to school with. If you come to Coffs Harbour to play Bonville, include Sawtell as well, you won't be disapointed.
