I really enjoyed the Sheffield course. Only one bunker, but plenty of challenges, and wonderful views of Mt Roland.

Their website (http://www.sheffieldgolfclub.net.au) is worth a look - apart from fixtures and results, it has views of every hole, which will give you a very good idea of the course.

Measures 2585m Par 34 with 3 Par 3s ranging from 165-225m, 5 Par 4s ranging from 275-330m and the lonely 470m Par 5 9th. Slow, patchy greens, with worn out undulating fairways and patchy but commendable teebeds.

Can get a little tiresome with the walk but worth a hit. Highlights include lengthy 225m Par 3 6th with lake behind the green. The 470m Par 5 9th with OOB on the left with great views of the Great Western Tiers. Many holding dams on this course, but strange to see dryish looking fairrways - must be the undulating fairways keeping it hard to absorb the moisture.

Played here 20/7/06 and paid $10 green fees to an honesty box system.

the course is laid out at the foot of the western tiers, and a range of mountains called Badger Heights, with a temperate rain forest which includes , manferns and giant gum trees.

the course does have hills, and at the end of 18 you know you have walked the course, it has alternating tees for each nine, three par threes, which are all long, five par fours, from short to mid lenght, and one par five, the course is quite often tested with a north westerly wind, for which some holes are right into the teeth of the wind, condition of the course today, greens were hard, but slow to putt on, the course is challanging in the fact the greens are small but slopey, which makes putting a challange.

Was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course considering with all the rain that has been about
