This is a reasonable country layout, par 70 for Men and 72 for Women (rating of 69 and 71 respectively).

There is a reasonable amount of water on the front nine. There are few bunkers and they are quite small, so no real issues with them. It is a fairly flat course and is easily walked.

The fairways were in reasonable condition with an even covering of grass, although a little sparse. Once you get off the fairways it is quite dry and the lies can be very thin.

The greens were generally in good condition, although a couple of greens on the front nine were rough and bobbly. Mostly they rolled well though.

We played on a Wednesday and there was a steady stream of groups playing. There is a nine hole ladies comp on Wednesday morning, however there were only a couple of groups playing and so getting on was no problem. We got around in well less than 4 hours.

The green fees of $25 are good value for what is presented. It is a joy to find grass greens in the outback, worth a visit if you are in the area.

Played at Emerald after the December floods which restricted the course to 9 holes. This was unfortunate, however the recent rain has helped keep the fairways lush, providing a great reward for an accurate tee shot. The greens were very consistent and a pleasure to putt on. The layout consists of some up and down fairways, water on the 3rd and 4th and a few dogleg holes where an iron off the tee is your best bet. Apart from the ferocious sandflies, I found Emerald a really enjoyable course to play and with its great presentation and good price makes it a must play on the central highlands.

Course has changed heaps in the past three years, new irrigation system has really greened up the fairways and the greens. Tough country course.

I grew up playing at Emerald as a Junior. The water on hole 3 was daunting as a young tacker!!! Good memories.

Have played here twice whilst on holidays!! The first day was not under influence, the second in the hot dry northern sun. Not a pretty sight...

Water holes make for interesting golf on the front nine!!!

A Good course with nicely looked after greens. Try it out!

Have been playing here for the past 10 years. In this time have seen the course go from a goat track to a very nice course. Very challanging course with water holes on the front.
