got to be the friendliest club! We were on holiday there last week with rels from the UK. Brother in law & I turned up at about 4PM hoping to hire clubs and get a quick 9 in. But a group had just gone off and all hire clubs were out. But 2 regulars who had finished and were at the bar asked us what handed we were – 1 left and 1 right as it happens – and so were they. So they lent us their clubs at no charge. Wouldn’t take any money even though we lost a couple of their balls – just a beer each. Nice little course not too many bunkers, fairways quite narrow and greens contoured. Course well watered and in pretty good nick. Green fees currently $15 per day or $35 per week.

Stanley is a small, coastal, touristy town in the North-West of Tassie, set at the foot of 'The Nut', a very prominent headland formation.

Course is links-style with fairway undulations, set in hind-dunes about ten metres back from the water and proceeds generally out and back. $11 green fees in the honesty box is excellent value for this above average Tassie 9-holer.

Well maintained greens were a highlight of the course, which is still in overall good nick even with the very dry conditions. Very short though, with par 66 (33-33) and ACR: 64. Only the one par 5 and four par 3's but still enjoyable, even with the wind whipping in from Bass Strait.
