Played the Strathmerton course recently, only to find it was a true hackers course. I assume the course is maintained only by a group of comity members, so if you take that into account they do a good job of mowing and maintaining what little there is to maintain. The first tee looks promising, as I lined up to hit down the tree lined fairway, hitting about 230 mtrs I only found the ball to be on nothing but dirt, when you hit down the middle of the fairway you expect better than that. This was repeated on about 5 holes. Dont think I will bother playing this course again, sandscrapes are very hard to putt on, and hitting to them was next to impossible. I may be being a little harsh, and not giving the course a fair go, maybe if you got used to the course it might seem better, (Im sure it would) but Im not going to bother. Dont know why you would play on a course like this when you have the Barooga and Tocumwal clubs very close, now they are golf courses.
