A nine hole course that improves itself by having tee off’s in different locations for the front and back nine. Another course that is nice and lush despite being in a very dry area. Not a lot of trouble around Tailem Bend with no thick rough to find your ball, but a few trees around the place can cause some concern if wayward.
The 6th/15th is an interesting hole which plays as a long par 3 the first time round, and a short par 4 on the back. A nice big green and a narrow opening means this is a great hole. Only one par 5 on the course and thats the 9th/18th which runs along the Princes Highway bringing road trains into play if you happen to get the hook out.
Good little nine hole course thats great value too, and as flat as any course you are ever likely to play.

Measures 2741m Par 35 with two par 3s ranging from 132-177m, six par 4s ranging from 272-370m and the 454m 9th / 505m 18th. Also still plays as a 5403m Par 70 layout using the back nine tee mounds.
Course has dry kikuyu grass fairways and teebeds with clover grass and weeds coning through the top of the kikuyu. The small bent grass greens have many dead patches on them. There are no bunkers on the flat course and there are alternate tee mounds for each front and back nine.
1st-320m straight hole / 10th-154m Par 3
2nd-304m slight dogleg left / 11th-284m straight hole with the tee further up
3rd-132m / 12th-152m
4th-370m straight hole / 13th-393m like the 4th hole but just further back
5th-370m straight hole with a good green / 14th-335m with the same tee mound as the 2nd hole’s
6th-177m a good par 3 with trees on the left / 15th-246m straight short Par 4
7th-342m straight hole / 16th-446m Par 5 like the 7th hole but again 100m behind
8th-272m straight and slightly uphill with an OOB fence on the left to a small green surrounded by short palm trees. Also plays as a striaght-forward 147m 17th
9th-454m / 18th -505m which is straight with the OOB fence and Princes Highway on the left.
Compared with other 9-holers around, there are no surprises or challenges here and not as challenging and as well conditioned than Mannum, not as interesting as Swan Reach, but a much better option than Karoonda.
Played here 4th October 2011 with $10 green fees. Tailem Bend is a town of around 1500 people on the eastern side of the Murray River less than 30 minutes from either Meningie or Murray Bridge.
