It is a fantastic 9 hole golf course situated in a valley between Omeo and Swifts Creek in the Victorian High Country. Constructed in 1970 it is reputed to be the most attractive 9 hole course. Rated now with an ACR of 70 it has excellent grass greens. It was constructed among an old pine plantation with a creek meandering through the course. With 3 par 3’s, 3 par 4’s and 3 par 5’s it is a true test although not an overly long course. Kids can play for $2 and are welcome.

The course has also a licensed clubhouse and toilets/showers available for use by visitors. A small, shaded camping area with powered sites is available on course for the nominal fee of $5 per night per person. A high country welcome is afforded to all visitors who are always made welcome at this friendly club. It has a small but enthusiastic membership who maintain this course is superb condition through voluntary labour. After hours contact can be made via the Secretary Neil Crabtree on 0351594498.

Dont go past this area without checking out the course. You won’t be disappointed.

Very nice course that really is a hidden gem given its location. Fairways can get a bit bare in the height of summer but the greens are in good knick. Camping fees have risen to $7.50 per person per night (Max $15) but I dont know where else you can camp on a golf course and have the place virtually to yourself. 3 1/2 stars.

For a golf course supported by only a small community and maintained largely by volunteers this is a fantastic venue. Anytime of the week you can almost guarantee to have the course to yourself. Early morning and late afternoons your only company will be deer, kangaroos, rabbits, wombats and a variety of birds. It's a tough, tight course that will challenge the best. In the area on a Wednesday? Turn up between noon and 2 pm (up to 6pm in the summer) and you will be more than welcome to join the year round 9 hole stableford event. If you are looking for a Sunday hit then it's 1200 noon hit off for 18 holes and a few beers afterwards. The club has full camping facilties within 50 yards of the 9th green. And don't forget to take your camera when you play, your friends back home won't believe it!

Tambo is a great little course and very challenging. It is not a long course but requires placement of your shots to score well. Unfortunately the drought of last summer has caused some of the greens to look a little worse for wear but it is now on the improve. The bushfires threatened the course but only caused minor damage as did a small flood. The members are working hard to get the course back into top shape and I'm sure anyone who visits will love the course.

Well worth the visit if you are in the High country.
