The Palms Mawson Lakes Golf Course located just off Main North Road is a pleasurable golf course to play of a reasonable size located in the expanding City of Salisbury community at Mawson Lakes that I discovered, featuring average facilitys and maintence on course itself.
Although only 9 holes it provides an escape from the evermore populated northern suburbs community. As I found out a good place to discover or practice your golfing talent at leisure on weekdays although always busy on weekends. It will need continuous improvememnt

PROS

  • Adequate facilitys for 9 holes

The Mawsons lakes golf course is one of very few courses in its area and green fees are extremely cheap. For a course that has been under redevelopment, its an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon, with a round of golf and a drink afterwards. However, the course can be quite difficult. The layout of the course is fine but with the tougher water restrictions, it has become almost dead in an amongst the fairways, however the green are a different story altogether. The grass on an around the greens are in immaculate conditions with some difficult putting greens. A few doglegs are mixed in with 2 par 3’s and a par 5 and all in all, a pleasurable way to spend $10. My advice however, try regency park

The Palms Mawson Lakes, has been under vast improvement since 1999. Once flat and boring, it has now been redesigned to bring wild life and marina to the area.

With a number of creeks running through four of the nine holes makes a very enjoyable walk, even if your golf isn't up to scratch.

The architecture of the Palms is very standard, with minimal sand bunkers and mostly flat greens, walking between holes is also a problem with allot of back tracking and sharing of tee blocks.

Overall the good out weighs the bad. Since the course is always under improvement and green fees are extremely cheap for a private course, the future and popularity of the Palms Golf Club is only going to soar.
