There are 18 black soil scrapes here with couch grass surrounding the scrapes.

Course opens with the 378m straight 1st. Most holes have a slight bend to them. The course was cut out from the forest in the 1970s but the clubhouse has been opened from the 6th June 1981. Despite the works by the locals on their course, it still offers basic golf facilities.

Course access is 11km south-east of the village heading towards Keith, turning into a road that crosses the railway line, you follow a dirt road for 1.5km back around a spur in the topography of the land where the clubhouse sits atop on a hill overlooking the course.

Fees are $6 for 9 holes or $10 for 18 holes.

Tintinara is a small village of around 250 people about 35km north-west of Keith which is where the closest grass green course from Tintinara is located.

A traditional country course covered with kangaroos, as the front of the score card suggests. This course is located just off the highway on the sandy dunes of the upper South-East. The fairways are quite narrow and lined with gum trees in and weedy rough in most cases. This combination makes accurate driving a must or else big scores will result.
Although the course contains 5 par 3’s, 3 of them are over 170m and on a scrapes course this makes hitting the green quite difficult. There are also some reasonably long par 5’s which are made much easier with accurate drives which will get a lot of roll on the dry and hard fairways.
Holes to note on the course are par 4 8th and 12th and the par 3 15th which is also the shortest hole on the course.
The locals are very friendly and there is always work to be found if you want to help them out. For instance if there is a large branch down on one of the fairways then they will encourage you to assist them in lifitng a gum tree branch with a girth of almost a meter onto the back of a ute. Then you can watch as they drag is through the rough of the next 3 holes to a large bonfire.
The course is challenging from start to finish with the last hole being a 178m par 3. The scrapes are reasonably small and approaching them is quite difficult with plenty of chip and run shots required. Overall a nice little course and a real test of your ability to adapt to difficult golfing situations.
