This course is a great design and well kept, and some great views to be found.

I was lucky enough to find myself with a few days 'spare' from a work trip and one of the people I met with suggested that for a round head to this course - unfortunately I can't suggest anything for him when he visits up here in Brisbane (save for the expensive championship courses). $17.50 for 18 hole -4 of which (I believe 3 -7) are along the ocean. Plenty of forgiveness if you aren't accurate, lush fairways and greens and an awesome view from the 19th. Almost worth travelling from Brissy just to play the course again

Played this course on the 13th of this month and i was awestruck. Costing me a mere $8 for the round, i thought that no matter what the course had in store, it would be worth it.
Hit a great opening drive and then smoothed a 6 iron onto the green to set up a simple 2-putt for birdie. The 5th and 6th holes provide some great views but the wind was howling by the time i got there. I finished the front nine at +1 which wasnt bad considering the conditions that had taken force. The back nine is a long walk but the 16th is contrary to this but is a stand out of the course. The green is reachable in 1 but a lay-up is needed if you are a safe player. It is a very altering terrain hole which has a angled green which has great views also. The course was in immaculate condition and the staff were friendly and helpfull. I hope to return many times.

Just a half a star below the best courses I have played. Joined up with a couple of locals which turned out to be sensible given the definite possibility of getting lost!
Long par fives, interesting fours and tricky threes. It's not the club's fault we played in a howling gale which tended to take a bit away from the incredible scenery.
The locals bailed out after nine leaving me with Klaus from Victoria who, along with the leader of the opposition who doesn't play, quit with three to go. The Relic soldiered on , had one over on the last three (very tough ) holes.
Beat the rain into the very nice clubhouse (hope they're having this back in Qld.)
Will be back in good weather and give it a five.

The course was in excellent shape and I played in in near perfect conditions, and I was very, very impressed. And the great ocean views took my mind off the poor shots.
I don't think I'd like to play this course in the wet with a screaming southerly blowing but the gentle seabreeze that blew today was just right.
Friendly club staff and an excellent restuarant made the after-golf experience equally enjoyable.
Put it on your list of courses to play.

I was lucky enough to get a hit on Tuggarah lakes (aka Shelly Beach) last Wednesday night, and I can report that the course made quite an impression.
Practice facilities are very important to me, and TLGC delivers well on this front will a practice nets, and a large chip friendly putting green.
This course is very close to what I would consider A grade, with excellent greens, and enough obstacles to keep the majority of punters honest.
The 1st hole is a medium range double dog leg par 5 that is deceptively long. This leads into two testing par 4's, the better of which being the 3rd which features a wicked approach shot. A tricky water carry is presented to the ladies on the 4th hole, with the course providing both threats and opportunities for the next few holes. The 6th hole probably the gem of the front 9. The ocean view drive here is critical. Thankfully, the wind was calm when I played it.
The back nine continues to provide a challenge for all levels. When you look down the 16th fairway, you will realise (like I did) that the CCR round here could get v.ugly when the wind blows. When combined with 17 and 18, these three holes present one of the most difficult finishes around.
Overall the course is one of the best 4 star courses in the region. Only a little repetition on the southern side of the road prevents this course from making a big A-rating.

I played Tuggerah lakes in January this year with my farther. I have to say that this is my favourite coursei have played.
The course is located right on shelly beach and offers terrific views. The course was the best looking course I have played on with very well maintained teas, fairways, greens.
The course plays very long with a couple par 4s exceeding over 400m. There are also ling par 5s well over 500m.
The greenfeas are average on weekends but during the week very very good.
I highly recomend playing this course as it is a real gem!

I walked this course 4 times with my son in the recent Jack Newton State Age C'ships. It's in great condition with wonderful greens that are nice and big and fast.
Some of the par 4's are long as well as the 533 metre par 5 18th.
Doglegs, trees, bunkers, water..great.
I'm going up from Sydney next weekend for a game in the Tuggerah Lakes Cup and can't wait.
Get there ASAP.

have to say have not been as bored by a course in a long time, up and down not much thought needed with the exception of holes 5,6,16,17 which also provide the best ocean views par 3s are weak, the course in general is in good condition, rough in parts quite tough as your ball tends to sit down in the grass, found the greens a bit bumpy but we did play behind large saturday comp clubhouse, staff, bistro were all excellent just did not enjoy the course disappointed after reading other reveiws
