I spent Christmas in Walcha this year (2006) and had the oppertunity to play a couple of rounds on the local course. It is an enjoyable course with some challenging holes but the sand greens killed me. The greens (greys) are unpredictable, some slow, others quite quick.

There are nearly no bunkers here and water come in to play on 3 holes. The fairways are nicely tree lined which can make it interesting if you stray off the tee.

This is a great course to have a hit on but if you're used to grass greens you'll need to give it a whack. Uralla course is near by if you are too weary to give it a go and it is a beautiful course!
