Measures 6042m Par 72 with four par 3s ranging from 122-187m, ten par 4s ranging from 290-374m and four par 5s ranging from 457-534m.

Course has dry kikuyu fairways with many bare patches with local rule of preferred lies 30cm on fairways only, slow bent grass greens with dry, dirt-ridden teebeds devoid of green grass. The are no bunkers on the course. All greens have some sort of disease of them with the front half ridden with dead, bumpy bentgrass patches.

Apart from a mis-hit on the 9th where the practice fairway is located on the right with some long grass it is pretty difficult to lose a ball here, as there are red dirt patches and shrubs under the short tree-lined fairways with no distinction between fairway and rough.

Highlights include the mammoth 534m straight 4th (index 5) which plays slightly uphill to a bunkerless green; the 187m slightly uphill 6th (index 1) and the 511m slight dogleg right 12th (index 8) with a 2-tier front sloping bunkerless green.

Apart from the 17th the par 5s were quite long and challenging to score well on. There are 5 slight dogleg right holes, 2 slight dogleg left holes and 7 straight holes. Having said that most flags can be seen from the teebeds through the gentle turns and short trees.

Played here 31/07/2011 with $20 visitor green fees. There is accommodation available on the course as well as 2 bowling greens and tennis courts.

West Wyalong is a town of around 3200 people approximately 260m above sea level about 105km south of Condobolin and 110km southwest of Forbes.

The course is located on Tallimba Road about 2.5km west of the Newell Highway/Mid Western Highway junction taking the Newell Highway out towards Narrandera.

The wide and sparsely tree-lined fairways together with a lack of sand or water hazards makes this country-style layout boring for the serious golfers. Good for the locals and tourists though.

good golf course considering the area surrounding it with nice greens. be aware to not go over the back hence most grrens slope to the front. not a tough course but be aware of some of the dangers

'Country club' has connotations that this simple little course can only aspire to.

A simple back and forth layout, hook or slice a shot , just play off the next fairway. The greens need work and something to add interest.

The accomodation is right on the course which is a bonus but no pro shop or facilities like practise greens , driving range nor many hire carts available.

The leader of the opposition suggested two and a half stars but, not having that option , I had to go down not up.
