Measures 2660m Par 34 with three par 3s ranging from 120-163m, five par 4s ranging from 323-384m and the 463m Par 5 dogleg right 3rd with a bunker short right of the green.

Course conditioning is quite poor with bumpy, dirt ridden teebeds, slow small greens and bare patchy fairways with thin grass cover. There are 8 bunkerless holes with only one bunker on the course.

The 120m 2nd is quite different where you tee off over some shortish trees to a hidden green set below the ground in an old quarry surrounded by rocky outcrops. The rock outcrop is part of the course so no relief can be taken from any part of it. Perhaps they need a taller flag so players know where they are hitting to because having walked around a few minutes to see the green it was only then that I knew where the green was as the green is completely obscured on the tee.

No other surprises here as its flat with shortish tree-lined fairways either are mostly straight holes or with slight dogleg right turns to the green. Course conditioning could be improved but I guess the course has little funds to do so for a small town of about 1500 people.

Played here 17/11/2010 with green fees in an honesty box system of $10. Located about 1km out on the southwestern side of town on the C151 midway between Geelong and Colac, Winchelsea GC is a typical country course.
